Colorado vs BYU in the championship game I would love to see Colorado get in to the CFP but not at the expense of BYU losing.

@@TheFranchiseCAI came here to say this too! An Undefeated Army team as an AAC champ (this would mean they would have a win over Notre Dame and probably a win over top 25 Toledo) would have potential to be a higher ranked conference champion along with Boise State and knock out the big 12.

I agree that if BYU is 12-0 then loses close to Colorado they still go. The committee said they don't want to penalize teams for making the conference title game. I think 12-1 BYU would still be in. 11-2 probably not

8:15 I'm a BYU fan whose family has had season tickets in the North End Zone for 30 years. It's not a small percentage of Utah fans who are like that, it's a majority. They are titans in their own minds, and when reality smacks them in the face every year, they whine and blame it on everybody but themselves. But but but ... they won the pac12 twice! Yup... did they get a CFB playoff invite? No, because winning the pac12 with 2 losses isn't that impressive. STFU about it already.

Need Miami to lose in the ACC Title game to SMU. A 2 loss Miami won’t get in over a 1 loss BYU who beat ACC Champ SMU, if CU wins BIG 12 title. A Notre Dame loss would help; as long as it isn’t to Army (also undefeated).

@LockedOnBig12 Drake, why are you fixated on BYU taking a fall in the B12 championship? I guess I don't get the math. Root for the two top teams in the league to win as many as possible. If Colorado wins the rest of their games and loses to a #5 or #6 ranked BYU team in the championship, how big of an issue is that, really? You truly think losing to a top ranked team will drop Colorado's rank outside the top 12? And if it does, the B12 still gets BYU the CFP bye week, while their foes are risking injury to their players. We want our champion to progress as far as possible. When it does, it only adds luster to all the other teams in the conference, especially to those where the game was close.

It is his job to want what is best for the whole conference. But I understand having an undefeated team looks great. But a 3 loss team from the college football playoff is likely not making the playoff. So naturally he would want two teams in.

​@@NFLclipsnhighlights I heard him say that, but we're not talking a Colorado with 3 losses in the regular season. The third loss would come in the post season. At least, I'm assuming conference playoffs are post season. I believe the CFP guys were saying they wouldn't penalize a loss in a conference playoff, probably to calm the SEC folks down. So what makes us think someone who loses the Big 12 conference championship in the post season to a higher ranked team is going to fall out of the top 12? Let's say Colorado, currently ranked #20 in the CFP, goes 10-2 in the regular season, and because other higher ranked teams lose, by the end of the regular season they're in the top 12. Then they lose to BYU who is ranked #6 or #7. Why would they drop out of the top 12 below another team that only played 12 games? Especially when the loss was to one of the top teams in the country? I guess I'm expecting the rankings to be based on the 12-game regular season. And that all of the top 5 conference champions will be in the top 12 in ranking. Which means the other teams to make the CFP will be in the top 12 in ranking. Am I wrong about that? Are we thinking someone ranked #13 or higher will make it in? Or that it's impossible for Colorado to get into the top 12 by the end of the regular season? I'm not a guru on these things. This is an honest question.

If BYU is 12-0 headed to the Big XII title game, they will most likely be ranked top 6 at worst. 1 loss won’t drop them below 12, especially a title game. BYU would still get in. Plus, SEC still has many losses coming, and so do Big Ten schools. This year is gonna be the new norm. NIL and portal will be great equalizers and it’s gonna be great for overall health of college football.
