Need the wisdom of Solomon to sort this thing out. Very interesting case. I personally am not a huge fan of chaos and am looking forward to maybe a few years down the road when things get really crazy and the Big Ten and SEC commissioners finally convince their member schools that there need to be some guardrails around this and put in some salary caps and central place for NIL contracts to be recorded, along with a bunch of other fences. Such a big mess right now.

This is not the NCAA’s fault. They get sued at every turn. It costs money to fight a lawsuit

The NCAA caused this by not having make sense rules. Greed was all they cared about and it's coming back to bite them.

@@Big12InsidersBoth the NCAA and those in the SEC that destroyed the NCAA are pretty equally at fault. Those who sued the NCAA into oblivion damaged the sport just as much as the outdated NCAA did.

Even better. No money lost and none gained. Move on to the next one. This should never have been an issue. There are more players out there that would love to play for Wisconsin. Go get one.

I enjoy the Big XII Insiders, alao many other Big XII and Kansas State podcasts. Keep Up the Good work, Brien "BiG B" Hanley!, with the true reports of the BIG XII Conference; Along with the several other BIG XII, and K-State podcasts... I enjoy them All. P.S. Also a Huge Thank You goes out to our Commissioner of the BIG XII Conference, Brett Yormark... He doesn't put up with the sec and big 10, and their constant B.S.!

This should not be a problem. He has a contract but he wants out. He breaches the contract so it’s null and void. Move on, simple. The consequences for him is he looses all his money.

The athlete is the one who decides whether his future is ruined or not. Does he work/learn/practice/play hard and be the guy everyone wants to bring on? Does he not do those things and become someone teams don’t want? This is his decision.

Yes tampering happens but to quote A Few Good Men “It doesn’t matter what I think, it matters what I can prove.” No school will never prove it on another because both have broken so many rules that neither want to go to discovery.

How is Wisconsin for hypothetical example tampering with a Missouri player relevant in a lawsuit of Wisconsin suing Miami? And Pete Thamel reported five days ago that UW-Madison issued a statement in which they directly accused Miami of tampering with the Badger player. It doesn't sound like Wisconsin is afraid of bringing things into the open or to go to discovery.

This is a very interesting situation that deserves much conversation. Let's put the shoe on the other foot for a second. Let's say he stayed at Wisconsin plays and then Wisconsin says "Hey we are going to pay you because the revenue sharing wasn't in place when you signed the contract. Also, you keep saying this kid was miserable. Based on what? Because another program waived a pile of money in his face. If he was so miserable why would he sign an any type of agreement? Was there tampering? I can't imagine that this occurred without it. Are there rules in the NCAA against tampering? Yes, there are. So what rules get enforced and which ones don't? I also believe that Wisconsin had some NIL money at play. Does that change the legal ramifications? I believe the NCAA is done. They have not put any structure in place, and if they aren't putting any structure in place, then what purpose do they serve? It's a mess. It's mass chaos. I believe the major conferences are going to kick the NCAA to the curb and introduce rules and regulations that the conferences will enforce.

So once we get the “Employee “ status for the players for pay to play, will that destroy the portal? Also when they sign a contract can they be traded?
