There's only one referee in a crew, and he's the one wearing a white hat. If you see on the official's back there was a U, that stands for umpire in the crew, and he was also wearing a black hat, not a white one. The referee has an R on his back.

You don't know how much time and work major (and minor) college officials put into the game. From getting to the city the night before, the meetings that evening, to game day and the meeting before and after the game. They do a great job nd if you think you can do better then start (like we all did) in Jr High and proceed up. Most of the college officials have at least one state final came under their belts before they are even considered for college. So unless you are in your early 20's - forget it.
