Regarding WVU defensive turnover. They lose a few players but they have a good amount returning. They also added some quality pieces at every level. Defense will look like: DL: Martin(Sen), EddieV(RSSen), Russell(RSJun), Redwood(RSSoph), Jackson(Troy transfer), Mulbah(Sen) DE/OLB: Bradley(RSSen) & French(Sen, Garnerwebb transfer) LB: Lathan(RSSoph), Trotter(RSFresh), Cutter(Soph), Carrico(RSJun, Ohio State Transfer), Biser(RSJun) Spear: Burks(Sen), Jennings(F), Collins(RSSoph) FS: Wilson(RSSen) SS: Joseph(RSJun, Northwestern transfer), Tarnue(Sen, Jacksonville State Transfer) CB: Hollis Jr(Sen, Northwestern transfer) CB: Garnes(RSJun, Duquesne Transfer),Spells(Jun),Fagan(Sen, transfer), Tarnue(Can play CB or S) From those who closely follow the program, things on the defensive side look pretty solid and they should take a pretty healthy step forward from last season with much better depth at LB & DB. Coupled with an offensive philosophy that will maintain superior ToP in most matchups this should go a long way in helping keep the defense fresh through the season and take some reps off of them. I believe WVU, and many of their players are seriously undervalued+rated and this offense will also take a massive step forward in Greene's second season as QB1. Not just due to Greene's individual improvement, but because all the talent around him also improving. A balanced, dynamic, & dangerous offense that will opt to grind opponents down, but also have the skillsets to win a few shootouts when needed. QB: Greene & a significantly improved Nicco as backup RB: Donaldson(Which should take a step forward this season as he was dealing with a bad shoulder injury last year. So while everyone is talking about White(as they should be) I think CJ shows a big jump this season. White(Who came on strong after the middle of last season as a true freshman. We should see his game expand to leverage his skillsets in more ways reducing predictabilities) WR: Ray, Gallanger, Clement, Fox should all take a step forward at WR. Since Ray, Gallanger, & Clement are no longer freshmen. Bray & JRob should offer much more production than Carter did last year. We also have a real talent incoming freshmen in DayDay Farmer. Which should offer some production after a few games to give him time to adapt. Farmer is good enough to have a few packages for him after 3-4 games. TE: Taylor(Had approx 50 catches last season, and will only improve on that connection with Greene to be a dependable 3rd down & RZ target), Davis, & Genross + 6 of last years starting/rotating 8 OL returning. (Milum(Sen), Rimac(RSJun), Yates(RSSen), Hubbard(RSSen), Malone(RSSen)) + Weidman With Weidman, Williams, Bausley, Livingston, Krahe as primary rotating OL this year. I have WVU going 10-2 this season in regular season, with an upset over PSU(Both losses are conference road games). Making the BIG12 title and/or CFP appearance. I realize the opponents on the schedule are tougher than last year, but when you dive into the actual scheduling details of the schedule, there are some significant advantages for WVU. Such as: Who they play at Home, Where WVU's Bye Weeks are placed, Who+Where their opponents play the week prior to playing WVU. When you dive deeper into the actual schedule details, there some underlying details that could make a good amount of those tougher games a bit easier providing just enough edge to help get a W. This assumes WVU remains mostly healthy throughout the season. If WVU remains healthy on both sides of the ball, I think WVU has a serious shot this season. We'll see soon. Either way, should be a blast to watch this group play. This gets us back to what our BRAND of football is+was known for and we all hope this continues for many years to come now Brown realizes what WVU needs to be in order to compete at a high level. A credit he's often not given...

These type of hard line tiers don't really work in the Big12 where the gap between teams is way too small. It's not the SEC or BIG where only 3 teams have a chance to win either conference. You can't tell me teams like Texas Tech and Iowa State can't win this conference and he had them in the "bowl bound" tier with a cap of 8 wins.
@magicray50882 ай бұрын
State Penn vs West Virginia will tell us all we need to know about West Virginia, and if they can stay healthy ... same for Utah if they can stay healthy ... I like UCF if they can stop the run this year... OK-State wins the Big 12 this year. a quick snapshot for you. Just my opinion.

As you mentioned, some from FCS(2) Both All Americans, G5(5) All productive. The PERTINENT part is that we have 6 P5 transfers, which wasn't mentioned. We fumbled the portal a few years ago, when we added lower level guys that weren't productive. Huge difference. This D might suprise some people. Add in addition by subtraction and look out for Josiah Trotter. Good stuff though man! I don't expect anyone to know everything about all 16 teams in the league. 1 month!

BYU makes a bowl game. Most of the problems that plagued us last year will be better. The fact that we were that close to a bowl game with THAT bad of an offense, and now it'll be more consistent? We're not finishing 13th, I'll say that much.
@iraxks03412 ай бұрын

A team from Utah will win the big 12 and it ain’t Utah. BYU is a more successful program and has higher standards than Utah or the rest of the big 12. BYU had a transitional year last year but they will dominate this year. Quite frankly it’s embarrassing for a blue chip program like BYU to be in the same conference with teams like Houston, Cincinnati, Kansas state, and West Virginia. They only was wvu fans will show up to a game is if they can get drunk.

Their are several teams that have a great quarterback and offense. What sets Utah apart is that they have a top 10 college defense. They are the team to beat in th big 12. BYU could go 8 and 4 or 4 and 8. I expect a lot of coin flup games. Their offensive line should be a lot better with their new offensive line coach. A lot of players return on offensive. The defensive line concerns me. Especially if injuries hit in that area. The defensive coach is now in his 2nd season, so there should be an improvement.
@ChrisTurner-b9g2 ай бұрын
Utah ain’t gonna win it. Cam Rising is still very limited physically and Utah is even limiting his runs which helped him. He’s not a great pocket passer. 47% on throws 10+ yards down the field. And they have lots of guys coming back from knee injuries. 3 + gimpy knees on supposed difference makers. Oh, and a brand new secondary. League is up for grabs.
