If you can flatten out those silver-plated copper pieces, you can take a Dremel and grind off the silver layer into a bin or box. You can then recover the filings and process the silver from them. I took apart a similar switch last week, about 1/4 the size, and it had some nice thick silver contacts in them as well. After processing the contacts, I was left with some tungsten plates and lot of white powdery substance in my silver nitrate. I used a hacksaw to cut the contacts free from the copper, as I did not have a torch that could get hot enough to melt the solder they used to attach the contacts to the copper arms. I used my bench grinder to remove most of the copper from the rest of the contacts. Whatever works, I guess.

interesting never spot tungsten covered with silver yet ... does tungsten disolve in nitrick ??? really? my plan was at first to reverse electroplate those buggers and then try to disolder self contacts .... once i had similar situation after disolving gold plate from some contacts end up with hand full of sandy grayish stuff anyway as i drop them into hot temp it turn into nice purity silver

Some contacts we have here have a waffle pattern on the bottom of them. When you dissolve in nitric, the silver dissolves and leaves this thin plate of metal un-dissolved. Most of the time there is a powdery residue left over which I can only assume is some sort of tin , because it will not dissolve in nitric. It often clogs filters.

@RafalScrapper I have hundreds of these I'm working on. I have no idea how to extract the silver..

@@scrappingonthefly77 there is planty ways to do it from mechanically to chemically or even reverse electroplating.... all of them had its pluses and minuses and some are more complicated or less but it is very wide topic i had fev vids about silver recovery and refine ... feel free to check them out so you will see some way of dealing with ... cheers sir

To actually recover the Silver, you'll need a rather nasty acid. It's called Nitric Acid.@@scrappingonthefly77
