Big and Bouncy! Inflatable Paint Booth.

We bought something to help us with our paint projects. A used, inflatable paint booth! In this video we do a quick set up before storing it away until Spring.

Yeah it is time for Elin GT 6 to paint, the car wait too long of paint. I think Cheftush should paint the GT6, he made his cars beautiful with paint.

@@cheftush Yes that's true but you have more expirence with paint. His first car he don't paint it by himself. He is more the mechanic man. To paint is not easy.

Very cool! I saw someone renting one of these out on FB market place... I thought that was a great idea. Something like $300-400 for a week.

They used to be fairly cheap to rent for a week but prices have become rather inflated recently..

That looks great Dave! I think that version can take a warm air blower if you need to paint when the weather is still too cold. You also have the option of renting it out for kids parties and wedding receptions! ( just kidding) 😁

Elin and I thought that with it being a bit of a greenhouse, it might be helpful for painting in sunny, but cooler weather.

I'm looking forward to seeing you guys use the booth and how well you like it. I've thought about buying one for painting my TR3 instead of using my dusty garage. I painted my frame in the garage and it turned out pretty good, but the finish on a frame isn't as critical as the finish on the body.

Looks like a very sensible solution! Once you put it up be sure to get a car in it right away or you may have to go looking for it. Those things get blown away all the time. Looking forward to the first experience with it.

Now you’re talkin’. It’s an affordable solution to a pricey problem. I wonder if there is a way to avoid the overspray covering all the windows. All that available light will help in the paining process. Well done! Could be a solid Week of Painting once the cars are ready. I can’t wait for that GT6 done. I assume the air blowers are: One for the structural posts? And one that pressurizes the inside of the booth? And is that incoming air filtered? I would assume so! And the fumes exit those larger wall filters? That double entrance at the one end also helps to block any incoming dust. Now to choose what car will be the first test car! Very cool booth guys! It’ll work! 👍

I was thinking about one like this too. Painting car in the garage is something I'd rather not do again and renting spraypaint booth is ridicously expansive these days (at least here). I see one issue with that contraption though: nobody wants to see by themselves what happens when someone kicks the plug out or if power goes down... I'd probably make some kind of external scaffolding to keep it in place if the pillars get deflated for some reason.

Hi Dave, someone had one (Sam Crac?) for a paint job a couple of years back. Very successful but had a power cut during painting and It deflated on to the wet painted car, so please be aware of that very slim chance. I know you are an excellent painter so that should also help Elin.

That's pretty neat... never seen one like that before. If the garage was large enough it could be used inside as a cleaner way to paint a car, since the Dust in most garages is a concern.

Don’t think so Keith. We will have to see how well it vents overspray out through the filters.

@cheftush I don't know what brand you bought, but after watching your video I Googled and found "Velor" website that sells these in various sizes. Among the comments and user feedback section, someone commented they had somehow added venting to theirs. Also, the "filter" panels claim to be replaceable, though I couldn't find replacements on that website. (Didn't look all that hard.)
