👋 So good to see you again! 😊 Looking forward to the podcast. As someone else who started with my art career from the point of no longer being able to do what I did before, I have found a lot of the things you have put out there have been helpful over the last couple of years. I have no doubt that I'll find what you have to say next is helpful too! 😁 Thank you for all the effort you put into this channel. I appreciate it a lot. 🤗

Kendyll, I LOVE your work and videos so very much! I have watched many Skillshare classes and KZbin videos and have gotten so much out of them. I'm a lifelong artist with an intensive fine art curriculum throughout my childhood and teen years, but I chose a liberal arts college so that I could also learn design, photography, and technology during school. After college, I mostly focused on photography work but have circled back to art and illustration and am working on refining my skills. I've had a lot of bumps and blocks in my art journey and your videos have given me so much encouragement!!! I'm really looking forward to your new podcast and videos -- you are awesome!!! Thank you for doing this!!

I am a new listener/ and follower and recently jumped back into art after an almost 20 year pause. I am very excited about the direction you are going. I found you in my search for proof of career change success, and ways to clear mental and creative blocks. So this is great for a listener like me Thank you

As a long time follower, I'm always inspired by you. I struggle with many of the same perfectionist "stuck" issues, and truly relate to what you are saying. It does seem like a natural shift, and I will enthusiastically subscribe to the new podcast! After a side career of teaching, I'm finally launching as a freelance illustrator, and your videos would have been a godsend years ago when I initially graduated with this illustration degree, but then was not confident enough to do it back then. (I'm def. older than you.) Congratulations on the new format, and I can't wait to listen in. (Though I will also play the youtube version at my desk when I'm working, will seem like you are talking with me!

Looking forward to the podcast - it will be great to listen while I draw. I've started drawing quite late in life but it's my main hobby now (though I'd like to try and generate income from it soon). I'm very keen on making sure I enjoy the whole process of creating a piece and don't just focus on the quality of the final result - so hearing your thoughts/feeling/tips on how to be mindful of the whole process from start to finish would be really interesting.

Absolutely! The video version will be here on this channel on Tuesdays, and then the audio-only version you'll be able to find on any podcast app (Castro, Overcast, Apple Podcasts, etc). The content will be exactly the same, so whichever version is easier for you!☺

Kendall! Its good to see you! I'm excited for your podcast.Things change over time, as much as maybe somethings stay the same, regardless I think anyone whose here is willing to go through the changes with you. And I can't imagine that new individuals wouldn't want to join in on what you have to offer as well. Here for it all. Thinking of topics for a future season, I'd say hearing more about art and motherhood would be great. I know you have a few videos on this already, all of which I've watched and rewatched . I guess I'm just thinking of my personal situation: wanting to start a family, being of a certain age and therefore feeling like I'm "running out of time," while also just beginning from ground zero on an illustration career. The feeling is that while I want both, I'm afraid that having a child would slow down any progress I make just as I'm starting my illustration career. I'm often left feeling like I'm behind and wish I already had an established career. Part of me also feels like I'm a shit person for feeling this way, but I can't help but be fearful. Wow, didn't mean to spill my guts on you. lol Either way I look forward to listening and having your company via podcast.

Excited to check out the podcast! Are you going to focusing on art mostly from a career lens? Asking because my husband and I love Creative Peptalk, but he dips in and out because he’s passionate about writing but doesn’t do it professionally and isn’t currently looking to change that. Either way I’ll checking out the show! ❤
@KendyllHillegas Жыл бұрын
LOVE this question!! The show will definitely differ from CPT in that regard -- it's going to be pretty much exclusively focused on the creative process itself, whether you're doing it professionally or not. And I think you know, I'm a big Creative Pep Talk fan, so no shade meant by this whatsoever! I'm just not as interested in the marketing/strategy/career stuff, and Andy already does that so well!

i just graduated last year from art school and am so blessed to have a family who is helping me while i try to find my adult wings :') ive been doing a lot of research, trying to find some solid footing on ACTIONABLE STEPS! and you were one of the first people i was drawn too and still check up on for your content and words of advice... i also LOVE creative pep talk, and i was so happy when i saw you and andy had a collab episode !!!!!!! and now youre making your OWN podcast!!! i am so so so excited for you (and for me who gets to listen lol)

Oh yay! I am so excited and ready t subscribe. I have very much enjoyed your art/feelings content. Art is so much about feeling so it is a fundamental issue. Some nuts and bolts were missing when I read Art & Fear and Artist's Way even though they are helpful. I thought I was the only one. Thanks, Kendyll! Congrats on this new chapter! Thank you for caring so much and putting so much thought and energy into this topic.
