Hello Tierra! I am Romani and I am so proud of you for the name change. You seem like such a kind and loving person, one who would not want to offend or hurt anyone. I know you have Irish bloodline and the Irish have suffered many injustices as well through history. To all the viewers watching who think it's not a big deal, the Romani are from ancient India and when we were forced from our homeland and made to wander, the countries we came to were cruel to us and because of our dark hair, eyes and exotic clothes thought that we were from Egypt. Gyptians, shortened to gyps and gypsy. It is the word used when they made us slaves, and later the word we were called when we were rounded up to be killed in the Holocaust. It is a word that means misunderstanding and pain to us. In the 70s alot of musicians used the word in their songs and romanticized our clothes, guitar playing and culture. I do not think they understood at the time that gypsy was an offensive word and so in America, it has been seen as a lifestyle instead of a real group of people. Bless you Tierra and your new baby and home. 💙🧿 I think you should call your new space the Luna Lodge.

@@lunaluxe8030 you are very welcome! I feel like rather than get angry, talk about it. Like I wrote, I think in America, most people just don't know the truth about Romani. They aren't meaning to be offensive because they honestly thought it meant something good and happy. Blessings to you!❤

Love your new soap space. I have a soap cottage which is a shed that we converted. It is never going to have a sink or running water due to how expensive it would be to install one, run water lines, hot water heater, etc. Here's a tip for you. I clean all my soap dishes out as much as possible with microfiber clothes or towels. I then stack them in a large basket. You can use a clothes basket etc, just make sure it is something that raw soap won't hurt. When I am ready to do dishes I just carry the basket into the house and wash them up. Once clean and dry, I put them back in the basket and carry them out and put them away. For the soap cottage, I just bring a small bucket of hot soapy water out and wash everything down. I also do this when I am soaping so I have soapy hot water available. It is a tad inconvenient this way, but I am just so happy to have my own little soap cottage, that I don't mind.

Girl listen the no sink struggle is real. My art studio is separate from my house and has no water and I've been doing it for seven years. Four doors between me and the sink in the house ugh. Get you a big tub with handles! I learned that the hard way and had to pick up bits of glassy pyrex measuring cup out of the grass🙄 that was still in the melt and pour days. I'm less afraid of dropping plastic 😂 though I have gone back out the next day to find I'd dropped a spatula out of the tub LoL. I tend to let the tub fill up and only wash soap dishes once a week. The man says he's working on it though so bless him. Hopefully this year!

I will miss the name Gypsy Faye. I found it very exotic sounding and a playful way to honor the people group. I understood your intention... I also understand that there are some who are hurt by the name. I don't agree that it is an 'offense'. That is someone's choice response to a perceived insult. Please everyone, especially now let's think the best of each other rather than the worst.

One, while I love the new name, I also love the old one. I do not understand how the word "Gypsy" is offensive enough to cause issues with anyone. My family, quite a few generations ago in Europe, were gypsies, gypsy 'royalty' actually. I understand there are people that still live that life proudly, but it's not a race/nationality or anything, it's a lifestyle choice. I also take it as being a free spirit and a traveler, it's very whimsical - so how it's been contorted to mean anything negative is beyond me. Whatever. Two, aahhh Sebastian is so sweet! He's getting so big! My lil girl is 2 months now and she's growing so fast too - but is still so tiny at the same time haha. I have had baby boy names picked out for forever but I keep having girls, I've had to get pretty creative because I am not one for generic names, so Sterling is baby girl number 4 - we keep getting told that the next one will be a boy but I don't know if I want to find out if they're right lol Three, congrats on the new house and the Soap Cottage - I am immensely happy for your little family, and sooo jealous of your house/soap cottage. Green is also my favorite color, so it was a great choice :) When I eventually get my space, it's going to be set up like a little apothecary (I don't know if you're familiar with the show Grimm, but the apothecary shop in that show is the exact vibe I want). I cannot wait to see your upcoming projects and how the house comes along, hopefully we'll get set up in our own space sometime soon as well, for now I'll just enjoy yours :) Congrats on all the positive changes
@LunaFaeCreations3 жыл бұрын
Thank you 😊 Same here with names. I can’t know anyone with the name. Luna is getting really popular.
@LovelessYayaoi3 жыл бұрын
Ironically, you've got the order wrong: it was/is already a negative term long before modern use distorted it; the "wanderlust lifestyle" concept came AFTER the word had centuries-long use for justifying violent persecution of a group based on their ethnicity
@codybrookehanson23463 жыл бұрын
@@LovelessYayaoi hmm from what I understand, gypsies have always been travelers, moving along by caravan and setting up communities. Often times unfortunately they would reduce themselves to theft to get by - but yes were also wrongfully persecuted. There were gypsies from multiple regions, so it couldn't have been specific to one nationality. And there are people that are descendants of gypsies and still refer to themselves as such, proudly - maybe not the greatest example, but the stars of American Gypsy (I think we the title of that show). Again, I am a descendant of gypsies, a fact I've always found to be awesome and quirky, and I've never had any qualms with the term. It's only negative if you make it negative and I've found that the only ones making terms negative are people that have no relation to the term and get offended on the behalf of others.
