That really was one of those once in a lifetime auctions the amount of stuff a specially tractors it was sure nice to get to talk to you in person that day that was probably one of the hottest days of the year and everything seemed to be either up or down one of the hills there hope you ended up buying the tractor you have to find one before you can buy it. Living a rich life has nothing to do with money it has to do with the memories you make with the people you care about. thanks for the video

Wow, what a large group of tractors. I worked at John Deere for 40 years at the Product Engineering Center, many of the modified tractors reminded me of the test mules we had in the back lot. I also went to auctions with my uncle, not so much with my dad but remember getting lunch that included pop. I don’t collect tractor but have many farm toys and small engines. Thanks for sharing. Let us know if you bought the V8 Detroit powered 5020, if so please post videos of working on it.

I've been many auctions and like watching these you tube videos. That auction was one the best tractor auctions I've seen in long time. we don't have auctions like that in northeast. Do you have any more info about that auction? auction results or link to other videos. Hope you got your tractor, never been fan of Detroit's but that was way cool tractor.

Pretty lady there. OMG! Did that all belong to one person? How many years did it take to accumulate all that stuff? A lot of modified stuff that is pretty cool. How long did it take the auction company to sell all that stuff? I worked for a Deere dealer for 40 years. I would have died to have been at that auction! I too have a lot of memories of going to auction sales when I was a little guy. Meeting kids from somewhere else that you had never seen before, and playing around the auction yard all day, and then would probably never see again. Loading and taking home, or going back with a trailer the next day to get whatever dad bought. He bought an 8N Ford at an aucton 46 miles from home in 1969. I was 12 years old and I got to drive it all the way home! He paid for it right away and sent me on my way while he stayed at the auction. I felt like pretty big stuff driving out of that farmyard on that thing.Those were the first of many, many hours I would spend on that little tractor raking hay and harrowing corn. Sometimes on a Sunday afternoon my dad would let me take it to drive to my friends place four miles down the road, or to my favorite fishing hole that was also about four miles in a different direction. And I remember my dad using it to check cows during calving season....And, auction sale hamburgers and sloppy joes and a can of orange pop from a chuckwagon always were, and still are the best hamburgers and sloppy joes ever! Just something about having them at an auction that is so nostalgic. They just taste better out in the wind and the dust.... so did you get that 5020 you were after? Those screamin' Gimmy's were something else in farm tractors back in their day. They produced a lot of horsepower, but they had to disturb the whole damn neighborhood to do it! Thanks for the video. That was awesome. You all wouldn't by any chance know if there is a video of the auction out on Utube somewhere?

As difficult as farming is, it does create a huge cash flow and occasional big profits. If you are wise enough to invest the returns from those few big profit years in off farm steady investments, you can draw a bit of it off for the occasional toy. We have a local farmer that has a significant additional income for all the tractor pulling work he does. After all, someone needs to build those machines, and he has the shop and the skills to do it.

318 Detroit wasnt the greatest engine ever built, but was alot better than the 531, or 619 Deere engines!! They came in 5020, or 8640??

Beautiful lady... That is a 6030 not a 5020 and BUY IT. You will be the only one on the block with one. Contact Kinze thay can help you wit it.
@bryanginder590319 күн бұрын
I believe you are wrong. That is a 5020 with a 6030 hood or just 6030 stickers. The 6030 with the small motor had a panel with vents on it behind the side screens, big motor did not but the 5020 did. BUT the dash is the give away, the hydraulic levers are on the dash the 6030 had a side console.

You have got to be kidding, they totally ruined that tractor.
@cdjhyoungАй бұрын
How so? This was a super tractor stock when made. Might have been the highest horse power two wheel drive tractor to come out of a factory. All they did is add a Whole more horsepower to it with that sweet engine transplant. The 5020 and the 6030 were two tractors with seriously over built drive trains.
@tomreisinger6220Ай бұрын
@@cdjhyoung over built in most areas, the little woodruff keys in the input shaft and slowest gear on the pinion shaft were problematic so doubling the power will make trouble, I had to farm with a GM powered tractor in my youth, spend some long days on something like that and you'll come to appreciate the 531JD engines.
