No fancy equipment for me...a kayak, a baitcaster, and a doobie...we spend almost every weekend in the summer fishing for smallies in fast moving water

The doobie is +10 for fishing skills. Especially on the flat calm days

8:28 Grow Design Works swimbait. It's nice to see a shoutout to the indie lure maker from Japan. Even though Berkley have their more widely available Nessie rip-offs, it's always nice to see people still supporting the original indie maker.

I still enjoy a good dangle for the big mouth bass buddy. Just the feeling of being outdoors smelling the crisp air and the feeling of any size fish fighting on the end of the line. It's what has been forgotten in the sport in my opinion but to each their own. And my gear wise I never use anything to expensive not that I can't ford it but my gear works and get the job done at the end of the day.

I've been tired of the bass fishing from everyone I like the mixture because that's what I like to do I live in eastern Kansas and I fish for everything sometimes I feel like catfishing sometimes crappie and white bass and walleye sometimes largemouth and small mouths and in the winter I trout fish im from Chicago like you and was born there and lived there till I was 21 as a kid I would ride my bike to lake Michigan and fish behind McCormick place or sometimes I would go fish the park ponds at Marquette Park and McKinley Park and I started doing that a 8 years old in 1988 those were different times and there were more murders then in Chicago but they usually didn't mess with a little white boy holding his fishing pole in one hand and giant Plano tackle box in the other hand I still remember my first 5 pound catfish I carried it all the way home on a stringer hanging from my handle bars riding 5 miles I caught from McKinley Park I used to catch so many king salmon and other salmon and yellow perch from lake Michigan I have been back a few times since and can barely catch anything from the shore the fishing has went to crap to much commercial fishing and people keeping them I remember when I was a kid and even as an adult never seen a game warden any spots in Chicago now the suburbs are different
