You're the best man. Im over in Marietta GA, I've been watching you for a few years now. - my in laws live on Lake Lanier on the Chestatee River in Dawsonville. After Nix Bridge park / Before the Price Rd bridge. Im from north east Texas, small town. I went nuts a few years ago & rebuild a cool 1986 StarCraft Mariner 18ft center console battle ship gray w/ a 2022 Mercury 60r on the back. You sir have taught me a lot on how to attack this lake & how to fish it. I grew up Texas pond jumping, large lake fishing is another ball game. Me & my wife, even the in laws love to watch you. There always looking for you out there. Thanks for the local knowledge & positive content. Stay well & keep it up! I've never caught a striper yet, I cant wait. A lot of smallmouth & a few large mouths, even some catfish this summer.

Thanks for the kind words! That makes my day. Stay tuned for the Striper content, they should start showing up on the north end any day now. I love catching Stripers! Congrats on the battle ship! Keep in mind that the big lakes are just huge ponds. Break down one small area at a time and learn it, and then expand from there.

From McDonough, Ga but always like coming up there when I have a free day. Watching your videos makes me miss being on that lake.

Good morning Dana, enjoyed the vid, that Texas rig did the job, along with that SwampPro lure, good deal
@FCPFishingАй бұрын
I think a lot of people overlook the simple Texas rig worm. It is still one of the most effective lures ever created.

I enjoy your videos. I haven't fished Lanier since I was 9 years old. 34 years. I'm hoping to come up there this weekend or the next! From Stockbridge.

Thanks! The fishing is a bit slow right now, possibly due to turn over.

You caught some good ones. The old t rig came through again👍🏻. Hartwell is turning over right now. The entire creek was the color of tea. I caught one fish this morning lol
@FCPFishingАй бұрын
I’m pretty sure Lanier is too. That would explain the tough fishing.
@johncable7785Ай бұрын
Great job catching them on the t-rig worm..some quality spots too! I went out on Lanier this morning and caught 2 on topwater, I was surprised because the topwater bite hasn’t been great for me lately…I tried a worm later in the morning but didn’t get anything..still trying to figure out Lanier since I only began fishing it this August. Always look forward to your videos on Thursday and Sunday!

Thanks for watching! Keep at it, it’s a tough lake but worth the effort.

I find that minnow looking baits usually work good in the fall. I like the one you had with the two tails.
@FCPFishingАй бұрын
They definitely work, but not always. They have been keying on craws for the last few weeks, so the jig has been the best bait.

Went out yesterday and on your example, threw a weightless fluke & swivel. First cast at a shoal marker, I caught one pushing 3 lbs. But that was it for 2 hrs. Threw into an empty dock with a shaky head and must have hit her in the head with the lure, as I immediately felt the weight. Two minutes later, I boated a 4 lb. spot. Nothing else landed, no pattern figured out. I never threw a T-rig. One in the sun and one in the shade.

Rumor has it the lake’s turning over. That would explain the slow fishing.

Dana, Just watched the video where you used your homemade worm and swim bait. it looks to me like you are fishing points and down the side of points… My question is how shallow is the water where you’re catching them? My guess is only a few feet but wanted to ask you. You seem to do well between the docs too fishing up near the bank and I’m guessing it’s only a few feet of water there… Thanks.
@FCPFishingАй бұрын
Most of the fish I catch are relating to points, and that goes for any body of water. As far as how deep, it seems to be a little different every day. I look for points that drop off quickly into deep water. They use the drop offs to herd bait up against. It is deeper than you might think. One particular point that I fish a lot is 10 to 15 feet deep 2 feet from the bank and gets deeper the farther from the bank you get. I actually am not fond of fishing docks, but I will when I have to. They use them as cover, especially when it is sunny. Some of the docks are in relatively deep water.

I have always enjoyed worm fishing and I think I have let myself get caught up in all different lures and technology. I'm go take a day and that's all I'm going to do. Seems life was simpler 😂
@FCPFishingАй бұрын
The old worm still catches fish. Sometimes simpler is better.

I usually fish the north end. It may be turning over, although we haven’t had much cold weather yet.

What’s the purpose of the bead?
@FCPFishingАй бұрын
It protects your knot from the sharp edges of the bullet weight, but more importantly it makes a clicking noise when moving around which attracts the fish. I don't fish a T rig without it.
