I'm not going to overreact n hate on Bo. Let's not forget he led the AL in hits in 21 n 22 n was way ahead of the field in 23 before he got hurt. He's not just a contact hitter either, he gets his share of XBHs. His defense has improved over the years too. Imo this is still Vlad and Bo. I'm not going to dismiss someone's previous 4 season cuz they are in a slump n hurt.

Exactly. I saw so many people saying to trade him (which, why do that when he’s injured and trade value is low), but he’s such a great player considering the past few seasons.

@@JaydenWillem another great point. Fans always do this. They want to trade players at their lowest point but expect the trade value to be at their highest. So many fans have now turned on Bo thinking he's no longer an above replacement level player... yet feel they will get 2022 Bo value. Same with Manoah. Their best value is on the Jays. We need both to excel for us to be good. I don't want to trade either n get scraps, I rather let them take the time to recover and come back next season ready.

There are TONS of 4 year guys who just disappear. And Bo isn't getting better at SS...hell only get worse from here on out on defense. Hell fix his swing eventually, and get healthy, yes, but..... Contact is always gonna be low. He'll always just be a 6-9 guy in the lineup. Maybe here n there move to the top of the order having a hot month, or injuries that move him up?

Jays have a coaching problem. Before the game yesterday they were talking about Vlad, why he is doing so much better, the thought was he stopped listening and started using his talent. That is what I worry about the new guys, over coaching, expanding the zone, being patient, and you end up with swinging at bad pitches and looking at pitches down the middle. They ruined Bo.

It's not a coaching problem! These players are so hot and cold. I guess coaching is motivating players so I'm blaming them 50/50. More than once tonight I saw Springer look defeated after a called strike 2. Not sure if that's coaching or what.

Bo this year 3 swings out back to the bench with a smug look on his face. Vlad base running errors. Record games without a run in the 1st Your top players could not hit

I don't think bo will resign with the jays atleast that's how I feel looking at his efforts his body language.. might need to trade him purely based on his want to be here and resign. If he sticks with the team I'd rather see him at 2nd base rather than shortstop. Unfortunately for the jays this was the year they needed bichette to have a good year and trade him. Next year if he's good and the jays get sense he won't resign.. the trade value isn't gonna be huge because teams will know he's hitting free agency and if he has a bad year again his value also isn't gonna be great.....

nah the jays still need to build around Vlad and Bo. 1 bad season doesn’t justify getting rid of him. once he gets healthy either this year or next, he hopefully will be able to get back to his proper form. us as jays fans definitely need to stop overreacting and let these guys figure it out

Normally I'd agree 2 bad season isn't enough the problem the jays has is what if he says he doesn't want to resign. 2025 I believe is his last year under contract. If he plays good and teams might find out he isn't resigning trade value goes down they know they can get him in free agency potentially and if he's bad again his value is also low....

Bo has still a lot of plus side, but if he really doesn’t want to be here, keeping him on just so he can hit free agency isn’t going to make things better. I think @BlueJaysToday are right he needs time to make sure he’s healthy, and we can see if we can get a trade done for him, likely for less than what he’s worth, but this would likely be more about moving him on for his own benefit. A new place, a new mindset, would probably do him a lot of good.

For Davis ... I was taught (for me) what was called a leveling low power swing. When you are down in the count you have to do the following: You slightly choke up on the bat with a 3/4 hold back for an upper level swing on those high pitches and he would hit singles left, right and center( not for huge power) but he would be very consistent because you would have a better control over the bat and to its location. There are many bat control techniques that are simply not taught today even bunting is a dead art. Man what I could do if I was aloud to teach some of the Blue Jays batters, seriously if only I was aloud. Windsor Mic Mac's Baseball in my day was the greatest ever, We had a priest as our coach and you didn't play for him if you weren't very talented or trainable with a lot of talent ...just ask Joe Siddall

Best case with Bo. Is that he comes back for the end of the season. Does not make any errors, actually hits the ball a bit. So we can get something decent in trade for him in the off season

Jesse Barfield would do wonders for the team. He has experience and doesn't rely 100% on analytics. The players also respect him more, which is why Vlad and Teo went behind Guillermo's back to get better advice from Barfield in 2021.
