I am reading les miserables for the tome topple right now, and i am reading it in french. The french edition is about 1640 pages because french sentences are generally longer. When translating, a lot of those extra stuff that are crucial to make up a sentence in french don't exist in english

I think the largest single book I read was To Green Angel Tower by Tad Williams. I had the original hardcover that had a reduced font size but still came in around 1080 pages. When it was released in paperback they couldn't release it as a single book as it couldn't be bound, they had to release it as two huge paperbacks with each volume of the paperback being over 800 pages.

I enjoyed this video and know how hard it is once you start a book and mean to read it in bite size pieces, small portions each day that after a short period you instead start to try and rush through the book and finish up with the inevitable eye strain and unwholesome look around the eyes when you eventually finish it after a possible marathon reading session that keeps you burning the midnight oil! My biggest problem is that I tend to also read books which should require a great depth of concentration, but that goes out of the window when I get a large book and simply try and cram in as much as I can in as short a time as possible as if I won't have a tomorrow to finish the book! Hope you enjoy reading Victor Hugo's "Les Miserables," thankfully I have never attempted "War and Peace" wonder if you have, oh I feel a migraine coming on!!

I love to be able to love reading but I don't like reading, if you see what I'm saying. So I'm trying to find ways to self-encourage myself, and you've been helping sometime. For example when you say that you read a book of 600 and some pages in a week, I would be like I have to get close to that even though that's kind of impossible to me. I'm reading a 700 pages book right now that I started a month ago and I still have about 100 more pages to go.

The ony audio book I tried to read/listen (?) was The Host by Stephenie Meyer and I have no idea how many pages it had, and it was soooo long, it was good but I didn't understand why it lasted 26 hours! Now I understand haha. But still, I didn't finish it because I don't really like to listen to a book because I can't concentrate and with this one I felt like it didn't advance so I stopped and I never tried to finish it, even though I liked the film, and I liked what I heard so far. I'm really not good with audio books.

Those are just the American editions, you can probably order them from any book selling website that's based in the US.

Can you recommend any? I usually use books depository which is a good site but don't think they have those editions, thanks for replying btw
@drewg.47799 жыл бұрын
Mostly it just depends on what place has the cheapest shipping for you, I'm in the US so those are the only covers we have here. Barnes and Noble or Amazon or possibly Books and Co (not 100% sure if they have a website but I'm assuming they do because why wouldn't they) would probably be good options too, I haven't looked at their shipping because I normally buy books in stores.
@drewg.47799 жыл бұрын
Actually I just realized that we also have paperback editions with different spines/covers that came out like last year, so make sure you don't order those if you don't want them.
