Such a cool catalog! Those service packs were so cool. I remember being a kid and my favorite part of the catalog was the page at the end with the service packs.

Hey Jaabo In 1977, LEGO U.K. was a subsidiary of Courtaulds Limited and were based in Wrexham in Wales. I presume, as with Samsonite in the USA, LEGO needed a partner to manufacture their products in a market that they were in without having the need to ship vast amounts of parts?

1977 was also the introduction year of the technic sets (yes, in Europe they were called technic!); these sets had their own catalogue with wonderful semi-transparent pages for each model. Fortunately I kept one in good condition, even though I would 'read' it often.

weren't those called Technical Sets ? Would love to see the semi-trans catalogue, must be a blast)

I like it when you go through some of those catalogues. Neat stuff!

What a treat to see that catalog, thanks so much for sharing, it brings back so many memories. Several of those sets were my first LEGO sets and I’m on a quest to get as many of them as I can again. They don’t make ‘em like they used to.

If you haven’t done a video on that oil rig, that’d be awesome.

I honestly wonder if LEGO figured there would be folks who keep their catalogues over the years. I unfortunately did not... I would love to look through the catalogues from the late 90s and early 2000s.

I think you should do a thing where over the course of a month or two pick a year and review every set from that year if you have all of them

I love this era of Lego and I enjoy every video you make with anything to do with it. These sets are all so cool.

I collect all LEGO tractors. I have more than 60 of them. Farming and tractor builds are a good part of my channel content. Any set with a tractor build in it or shown as a possible build on the old boxes or instruction booklets. I see this booklet and see a tractor build at the 3:18 mark of a yellow tractor in the back with the red minifig sitting in it that I've never seen before. I'm guess that goes with set 911 since that set has a red minifig with a red hat in it, Looking at the box photos online, I don't see that particular tractor in any of the build options. is it in the instructions or is this just a random idea build that never got printed anywhere else?

He can’t do any worse than LEGO themselves. When the Leicester Square, London store reopened I was chatting to a senior LEGO employee from Billund. When I mentioned that the first LEGO store outside Denmark was actually in Australia, he looked at me blankly. He then went off to look at his smart phone…

@@RobinHullBuilds that's fine, we don't need LEGO employees for answers, all we need is Gary Istok, he usually ends up answering things for LEGO because there inventory of LEGO knowledge sucks.

No. I'm not a big boy. I like to complain a lot (whining.) I never imagined that LEGO would be like it is today. I've never been to a Brick Show and I knew of the LEGOLAND park when I was a kid, it's just difficult to get used to! LOL.😂
