Nothing beats the badassery of a steam locomotive....NOTHING!!! not a single diesel/electric p.o.s of today will outlast a beautiful steam locomotive...real trains and engineering masterpieces. The power of steam is unsurpassed..pure torque at zero rpm

That Big Boy whistle is unmistakable. And it's American as apple pie or the bald eagle.
@EvilTurkeySlices

@@hawkeyeten2450 that one is even more unmistakable as it was modified when it was still in service to sound different as an experiment. 844 and 4014 have the same base whistle, but you can hear they sound different.

TheNevadaRailfan it has nothing to do with research no need for 20 wheels it could have 4-0-4 tender which would be more necessary why you got to get so mad.
@dannydorito9815
@dannydorito9815 4 жыл бұрын
PokeyRailFanning think about the weight of their tenders. These aren’t little 4-4-0 shunting engines. These are 4-8-4 and 4-8-8-4- passenger and freight engines. If they would’ve done a 4-0-4 tender it may have buckled under its own weight.
