I cannot humanly conceive how many albums I've listened to; recorded pieces that so date, so compress, so compel & conform a collection of arrangements and assemblies of works to a place & a time and confined to that series of dates and efforts to what was done then & there. That's studio time and studio life. On the stage however, and regardless of your musical background and what YOU prefer to listen to or have had training that has set how YOU prefer to see and expect things to be played, what happens on stage is "another ball game." To experience, to breath life, to regurgitate and rebirth & to almost relive indefinitely the kind of pieces once written and trapped on tape or film or digital coding - what takes place on stage can make new species of your first musical rumblings that the chance to reskin, re-clothe, re-address how you like hearing AND feeling those oldest pieces made new must be the greatest sensation, and in front of an audience that can adore and be in awe of that magic. A spectacle almost incapable of measure, I have zero doubt. I have witnessed lesser Live shows in number than the albums, records, tapes, CDs or recorded performances I can try to recall. At a point I simply am incapable of remembering all the music and artists I have loved & admired over the decades thru so many genres they alone don't matter individually, as most impressively, their amalgamations and the limitless hybridisms in-between them all has spawned the greatest kind of interpretation I can personally cite for myself. Not just rediscovery, not just the base entertainment that others would be happy and confined to be satisfied with, but to behold Live the miracle of something transcending what was once just a recorded session that has become this transference, this immaculate becoming on stage in front of dozens or even hundreds of spectators (some times the fewer the better) and to lose any sense of self as what happens sparsed between the thunder claps, what most others would think to listen for interspersed in the lightning crashes or just wiggling under the bellowing cries of a front-person at the head microphone - those moments of something unique to that place and that night & to never be repeated just the same again... almost beyond any religious connotation if there could be one in that experience. My words don't end here as my feelings never could. I'm also not alone in these sentiments as there are surely so many widely bridging minds whom also cannot conceive of being humanly happy by what exists alone on the timed edifices of things too trapped in materialism. To experience is to live and to be there Live is practically the greatest gift of any art, from any musician, from any audience to the performer in how something so random can be so treasured in that place where maybe no one expected it to happen. THANK YOU to the patrons, THANK YOU to the bar-goers, THANK YOU to the event holders, to the tour promoters, to the drivers, to the bartenders, to the door ppl, to the security, to the fellow concert goers, but THANK YOU most of all to the artists who dare risk it all on stages that can appear the most lonesome and disquieting until the crowds have arrived or the shattering applause is the most rewarding prize of having travelled so far for what could have been so little. THANK YOU, always :)

You can't just call something minimalism to defend a criticism. There is plenty of "minimalism" done artfully, and at least somewhat skillfully out there.

Maybe fill the prescription for ADD meds to improve your attention spans? Resist the urge to look at a phone everyone few minutes and just be present? Fuck, people are stupid--not being able to make it through the first track.
