Chelsie has the weakest cast of game players besides BB19 and also made mistakes that Derrick never would make. The whole reason why the Cedric flip was possible is that she made it obvious to Quinn that he was on the bottom of the pentagon, and made it obvious to Joseph, T’Kor, and Kimo they were at the bottom of the collective, which is why the Cedric flip happened. Derrick and Cody had their onion alliances be successful because they made people at the bottom of those alliances feel as if they weren’t and Chelsie didn’t do a good job at that. A crazy cast with multiple big personalities, a 2 person alliance that while not together for as long does go to the end together and then the winner of the last HOH choosing the wrong person to take at the end. BB26 tops 16 for me because it the AI arena made it way more interesting on a week to week basis and the winner for most of the game wasn't clear cut like Derrick. Absolutely the biggest blemish of this season was the dwindling competitiveness towards the end. I don't think you have to care about the money (although that is A LOT of money to not care about), but if you're going to take a place in the house from the thousands and thousands of people who would kill to compete in that house, you have to play to win, and a lot of them didn't seem to care to. Boils my blood, but it of course is a reflection of the age we live in. You can almost guarantee a career as an influencer if you are at least slightly liked and play your cards right. If you show what it takes on Big Brother, CBS will likely reach out for other reality shows. So the prize money probably isn't the goal for some people, but damn out of respect for the audience, PLAY TO WIN, and the audience will respect the hell out of you in return. TL;DR: Play to win and don't just take up a spot on the cast from somebody that would care to win could be filling instead. Respect the audience.

My biggest flaw with the current BB format is that once someone is put up on the Block, they seem to be always put up on the Block, especially as an initial nomination. It's too safe for the HoH to just renom contestants who have already been on the block instead of exposing anyone new. It felt like a given that Kimo and Angela were going to be initial noms basically every week. I've noticed a trend the last few seasons where there are a few players who can claim they survived the block 5-8 times, and everyone else gets voted out the first time on the block. Maybe there are huge flaws with this idea, let me know, but I think a solution would be to give the person who survived the block each week immunity just from the initial nomination, they could still be put up as a renom later in the week. My hope is this would make the nomination ceremony more interesting and less predictable as the HoH can't keep putting up the same people but instead be forced to put up someone new/er.
@peakmoment.2 ай бұрын
I think this makes a ton of sense. It forces aggressive (entertaining) gameplay and adds an extra strategic layer to an HOH's week. It also seems balanced enough that the 'safe' houseguest could still go up with the Veto, which puts higher stakes on the veto comp. I could also see it backfiring by us seeing more block-volunteering because 'you're NOT my target! I'm forced to put you up, but pawns don't go home anymore! You'll be safe next week!'🙄 Like most of these twists, it usually comes down to how the players use them. Would love to see it tried out for a season. Hopefully the AI program the producers used to ask how to improve their season will pick out your comment!👍

I'd argue that Janky Week was the best week and really the only real week where a game changing event could occur for the endgame. I would agree with the AI Arena being an awesome twist, especially as a fan of The Challenge as well; I hope that would return in the future. But to be honest, this is the first season I chose not to finish and I don't have any motivation to watch the final few episodes. My primary gripe with this season is why it seemed like so few people wanted to win themselves like in BB19, and as someone who watches commonly for the competitive aspect of reality tv competition shows, that's a necessity for me. Congratulations to the cast and crew for giving us pure gold levels of entertainment!❤️🤣😂🙌🏅🥇🏆👑🎥

Loved this review. Definitely the top season of BB20s. Tucker and Angela were such stars. The POV being used every week and AI Arena was the best twist. Our first female final 2 since 2011 and loved Chelsies win. The winner deserved every penny. U should rank the 20s

This season was top tier loved the cast miss feeds already! Wow production ate thaaat! Way better tv edit, equitable competitions, fun cast, and even the social media team was good this season. I can see a lot of players from this season returning. Also the twist this season was good which is so rare lol. I do agree the end game was a bit slow but overall season was great.

I liked this season a lot but I hope it's not just recency bias. The only negative to me was that the recruits this year really had no idea how the game worked and at times it was frustrating. I'm not opposed to recruits since we got taylor that way but she put in the work to watch the prior seasons and learn the game. Quinn I wish lasted longer too so he could educate some of them lol

I did not like the last few episodes. I fell like when it was 3 to 3 to 2 after janky world the game play felt like a few good players stomping out everyone else. I get that that tends to happen, but here it was just annoying that no one was able to go against them.

The thing is I feel like the format of Big Brother makes the predictability of the end almost inevitable

not one time this season did Julie pull the "with 4 votes, Angela . . you are SAFE, Tucker, you have been evicted from the big brother house". i always love seeing the shock when she pulls that off. lol.

I would place this season in my top 5 favorite seasons. I would also place Chelsie's game in the top 4 of best players ever! She broke the 2nd HOH curse!!!! I definitely did not expect THIS awesome of a season! ❤

I must have been in a bad mood all season, because I felt like I wasn't nearly as hyped. I couldn't stand the 1995 era computer animation, I didn't enjoy the AI arena twist because it cancelled the ability to backdoor, and I didn't enjoy the cast. I sincerely hope I'm in the minority because on the back of BCAN cancelling and the downshift in the rewind feature, I was feeling Julie's pronouncement that BB will be back next summer was wishful thinking. Glad you enjoyed it. (Here's hoping it's back next year - and starts earlier in the summer!)

Good review. I only started watching BB last season when Cirie was part of the cast. 26 was a big improvement over the last one. I am here for more chaotic characters like Tucker and Angela (Felicia is still my fave among those 2 casts though). Chelsie was an amazing and very deserving winner!
@Nixter522 ай бұрын
I wasn't a fan of Angela, sure she made for drama, but not the entertaining kind. She was so childish, and none of her tears were real. I enjoyed Tucker, I honestly don't think I could handle him, but he made for good TV. I was rooting for Quinn & Cedric, Kimo grew on me. I think Chelsie deserved to win, because let's face it, she played the best game. I read somewhere that Jankie World was introduced because they needed to get all the ants out of the house, or for covid reasons, if that is the case, they did good for short notice. It would be fun to have even just an online mini season of the jury house, it would be interesting to see how they react and share stories after they are evicted. I really hope Quinn and Cedric make a comeback on future seasons, they were my favorites for sure!

I'm glad you acknowledged the low points of the last third of the season. I absolutely loved the entirety of the pre-jury phase (probably the best pre-jury yet) but in the jury phase is was way too obvious that Chelsie was miles ahead of the rest of the cast and had the win guaranteed. Still an amazing season overall but hard for me to rank it higher than my other favs for those reasons

Honestly I loved the AI arena and hope they keep it for a couple seasons (obviously rebranded for whatever the theme is)

It also stopped huge alliances forming just to ride numbers each week and the unanimous voting that caused people to basically not play.

26 is bottom half for me, i think while the prejury was an all-timer, perhaps the best ever, the jury phase felt like a slow, agonizing death march as everyone with a brain slowly rolled over for the winner, who i strongly dislike. there's a lot to love-- the comp design, the twists, the way they went about casting, but one of the most important things for me as a viewer is whether or not a season sticks the landing, and 26 absolutely didn't. it's better than 25, sure, but far below 23 and especially 24 for me. however the fact that my only distaste for this season is in the outcome, not anything format-related, is a really good sign for bb going forward. this was shaping up to be a potential all time favorite for me until the midpoint and after that it wasn't just downhill, it was off a cliff

@minimaniaa2 ай бұрын
to each their own! i def get the appeal i just don't like her much :P if you can enjoy the season just fine that's great but i just found the latter half of the game mad uninteresting which is a shame given the prejury. i do think people hailing her as one of the series' best winners are sorely misguided though, she was a decent player on a cast of very very bad ones and i think her game is not very replicable T B H i also dont know why i was such a shitter in my original comment like damn girl chill out its literally not that serious, i feel like it gave the impression that my opinion is a lot more negative than it actually is

Great review! Definitely a top 10 season, potentially top 5. 26 being a mix of 4, 5, 17, and 20 is actually such a good call. Chelsie top 1 winner in terms of gameplay imo. Dominant, but faced adversity (literally started the season with a downgrade, and had her majority alliance destroyed) and played a perfect game! Loved how the AI Arena shook up the game and made each week feel more fluid. I would like to see it again to see if it will hit the same. I agree that the season slowed down in the jury phase starting in Jankie world and screeched to a near halt after the double. There were still some interesting things that happened but it was drawn out too long for my taste. 2.5 months is a fine amount for a season, it doesn’t need to be 3 whole months. It was neat seeing Julie have more fun this season. You could tell she really liked (most of) this cast! Also absolutely loved Taylor Hale taking over as jury round table host ❤️

This is a top three season for me. I genuinely enjoyed every second of it. I’m so happy the comps were equitable and this cast was FAR better than the last 2 seasons. I’ve laughed so much this summer and I’m super sad it’s over.

The deep fake coup d'etat could have been fun if Quinn had kept his mouth shut. I feel like it was a good idea, but if there had been a rule that the player couldn't tell anyone or loose the power would have been better.

I picked MJ week one. But when Chelsea won her first HOH and I saw her thought process and her rational thinking I knew she'd win. This season was very much like Xavier in season 23, 5 weeks in I was just waiting for them to cut Chelsie the check.

This was one of my favorite seasons in a very long time, beats Big Brother (2021 season) by a huge margin and that’s the last season that I had watched. I rooted for both Chelsie and Cedric throughout the whole season. Ironically they were both the “mascots” and one of them ended up winning the season. Aside from them, I loved the chemistry of this cast. My least favorite player was Angela though and Rubina, because I hated how she pivoted her whole focus on ol’ dudes game.
@duellegend712 ай бұрын
I Really REALLY wish we get a season of all the best social players! While I agree the show has stopped being so much about everyone playing 5d chess at the same time it’s also equally as boring to see makenzy just be Chelsie’s puppet and do everything she wanted her to do. I want everyone to be alert of where to be on edge all the time never know if they’re next or not. Now it’s kinda just everyone gets their cliques and it’s just Rock paper scizors of what group wins hoh Tkor and Kimos biggest “ game move “ was doing a flip vote and then just literally do nothing but talk about “ when I win HoH I’ll get MJ out !” Okay well Kimo it’s like the 3rd last week so how about you actually finally win something and stop talking? It’s bothering me the most because i actually loved Rubina right at the end from her personality she’s my opposite Quinn where as with Quinn I loved him from the start. But there’s always the one person you never think you wanted to like until they make it far. Although probably it’s not that I liked her much it’s just I liked her the most of who’s left.

I enjoyed the season overall. The last bit where you saw Chelsie run the table was a real downer, but you can't fault her for playing against naivety. Even at the very end, she could've been cut, but we got a BB16 all over again.
