Andy is such an amazing guest! And him getting to evaluate all the previous BB15 matchups and then getting to discuss David and two other winners was a treat! Also omg yes I agree with Aman I was heavily invested in BBCan8! Even without it getting shut down due to Covid (which is such a culturally significant moment I’m very grateful to have captured) so much was happening in that house. The way that only one person out of that whole cast actually got evicted is still so wild to me.

Haha. Listening to Andy on this podcast makes reminds me why some people think of him as a nerd, and I mean that in the best possible way. He always has so much to say about Big Brother and the people who go on the show. It's clear Andy still has a lot of passion for the game. I especially love how he practically had a prepared speech for the gameplay of the last person who came up on the wheel.

Recency bias is a myth. Fans are more critical of excellent players coming off of a season than they are years later. I think in big brother there's a reluctance to rate newer players as high as the legends of the past. Aman made a good point about reevaluating what makes a good game as the game changes over time. Will's game wouldn't work today and it's possible that Derrick's wouldn't either. Chelsie knew when to push and when to cut her losses to keep her important pieces in the game. Trying to control everything is not necessary or more impressive.

how is will not a top 10 winner when he fundamentally broke the game and still managed to win despite the jury watching his game from home, which is what everyone cites as the sole reason danielle lost? andy has great insights but he really does have some wild hot takes thrown in there too

I love Andy, but he's wrong here. Dr. Will is the best player of all-time and played on a season where there were no twists to save him. He placed himself in the correct position to win in the back half of the game every week and made deals constantly to keep him afloat with people who DISLIKED him. He crawled from the very bottom and got to the top. He is an incredibly active and charismatic player who has an unmatched social skillset. And like you said, Will broke the game. And Danielle didn't lose because of her Diary Room antics. She lost because Lisa was better liked and played a better social game from Day 1 in BB3. Lisa still wins with a sequestered jury.
