Big Brown Trout on Hellgrammite Lure (with Everyday Angler)

This was a fun and exciting day fishing a couple hours on the Hiwassee river with Everyday Angler. Caught several fish on spinners, trout magnets and the biggest of the day was a Brown trout on a Nikko Hellgrammite.

Loved watching you catching the yellow perch. When I grew up in Ohio we used to catch hundreds of them in Lake Erie every fishing trip. They were very good eating filleted and beer battered and fried in Crisco oil. What a meal along with some French fries! Love your channel! Wow man, nice Brown trout... you gotta measure them bigguns, please. I marked 24 inches on most of my rods in 1 inch increments so I will always have something handy to measure with when out on the water. My biggest rainbow was huge and I didnt have anything to measure him with. Lucky for me I took a picture of it laying next to my foot. I was able to estimate it knowing that my boot was 12 inches long exactly. That rainbow was right at 24 inches, and nice and fat. But wish I had had a tape measure to know for sure. Really enjoy your videos man. You got me started fishing helgramites, too.

You should try and net the fish in the water. Grip the fish from the outside of the net and you will be able to hold it. The net fabric is made to do that. Good video

always work a helgramite slowwww slow as possible... they are found under boulders, so the closer to the bottom column the better... thats the proper way to fish a helgramite always...

Awesome trout. I got a feeling you’re going to find even bigger though. Big Browns can be voracious predators so don’t be afraid to go with a bigger crank bait or jerk bait to try to lure the biggest ones around.

Nikko hellgrammites bring another PB! I fish them all the time myself and love them. I got my PB 5lb smallmouth and an 11lb snakehead on a Nikko hellgrammite and a PB largemouth on a Nikko shrimp. Nikko baits just crush the fish. Love them.

2 pound browns and rainbows are always enjoyable catches. You have yet to catch a 20" 4 pound brown or rainbow. You'd go crazy if you were to see what one looks like in person on your own fishing line.

Brown trout are my favorite to catch, I know I ask you a lot, but I really do wish you Would come up here and catch some 10lb plus brown trout, nice fish man you will be chasing them soon

There is probably up to 20lb brown's in that place. There is just so many other fish your having to fish through them. A good idea is to select a bait that is 1.5 to 1.75 inches long. In a pattern like rainbow, silver and blue, pink or fusha, or weedwaker orange. Browns like those colors and rainbows like blues. The size is crucial because the larger fish will eat things that easily go into there mouths as will smaller fish so if you are fishing smaller then 1.5 your catching alot of smaller ones to each bigger one. And if you're going bigger then 1.75 your missing alot of non aggressive fish. Sorry I'm just really astounded by your spot its similar to ones I fish but alot bigger I'm sure your missing out on some monsters there.

Depending on what part of Florida you are going to try the phosphate pits around Brandon (suburbs of Tampa) excellent bass fishing! Lived in Tampa for a while. Tidal canals and bridge fishing the bay is awesome too. God bless brother and have a safe and fun trip!
