I got an eight point this year (2019) at 85 yards offhand with my Taurus 66 12 inch barrel 357 mag and later that week I got a doe with my Taurus model 44 12 inch barrel 44 mag at 45 yards .Both shoots using Hornady lever evolution ammunition. Buck lung shoot and ran 150ish yards . Doe head shoot and well you know the outcome

I am not trying to be mean, I just want to make sure that you use good quality hearing protection. There are a lot of people out there who now suffer from tinnitus and a lot of them can point to a single event that initiated their tinnitus and a lot of those events happen to be being close in the vicinity of a gun shot as one of the causes. I use a zev trigger, zev springs and a kkm 7 inch barrel with the venom on my g40. Pinwheeled a doe at 89 yards this year. You should try the Underwood 180 Hornady XTP at 1300fps. Pass through everytime!

My first deer was a buck with a bow. Got a lung shot on it and I have no clue how far it ran because that thing took off and I lost the blood trail, but I saw it go down at about 75 yds out so the search was easy Edit: I asked for everything I could get on that thing to be jerky

Watched this video again. Mature bucks in northern Minnesota run over 200 pounds, field dressed. Not sure the 10mm is enough to do the job. Number one, no pass through means one hell of a follow up in a dense swamp (the kind of area I usually hunt). Maybe with hard cast. Maybe.

10mm will kill bear in Alaska so yeah it’ll handle a deer. Like any caliber make sure you use the right ammo. Preferably 180 and above. Hardcast is a good option depending on state laws
