Give it a chance to lay for a few minutes and don't go so fast on a wounded deer. Sometimes their will to live will take you on a long journey.

Congrats on the deer. From someone that also tracks, it appears your moving way too fast though.

Great hunt who ever made the comment (This is the most rookie stalk and track I ever seen ) needs to be ignored. It was a great tracking job he kept up on his speed covered a lot of miles and got the job done . There’s no sense in going slow I would rather go fast and take the chance of bumping him . Then never seeing the buck at all at least that way your in the game. I like the uncut video to be it shows more detail to the watchers as to what a buck does and to what to look out for when tracking. Great job and nice buck.

Each hunt/track is different. You were on his track at a good pace to catch up to him and got your initial shot off. You did slow down once you knew you had hit him and took your time before finding him for the second shot. Once the adrenaline gets pumping its hard to remember to take it slow. Especially with the snow and an easier track once they are wounded. Great job keeping after it. He did not take long to stop after the second shot hit him and it seemed he surprised you a bit not being down the hill but on the ridge. Ease into going after him after you know he is hit and I am sure it will continue to bring you success in all of your future hunts! Great hunt and really enjoyed watching both videos you posted. Good luck the rest of the season from someone in Upstate NY!

Dude....slow down man. I could spot that buck on your cam before you did. Not criticizing just saying on fresh track you weren't even hunting it, you were pretty much running, especially after first shot, creep on em and kill em
@bryantmartineau603918 күн бұрын
Agreed. There’s a time to go quickly sure, but once u see the bucks is starting to slow up definitely need to pump the brakes. They will see ya coming in hot and they aren’t going to stick around. u will never get a shot. Congrats on the deer Man U did get him but I agree once u can tell he’s started to slow up u gotta pump the brakes alittle more and creep up on em. Will give u a chance to see em before they are on their feet, and can be the difference in making a fatal shot and missing. Other then that hell of a job brother
