I don’t think it should be the devs’ job to communicate online at all. That should be a professional community liaison who has media training. It’s not like EA can’t afford them. Not only the sims community but all of social media is very different from ten years ago, and companies are not wise to “have fun” with their key workers

I wish mermaids had a leveling up system like the vampires, spellcasters, and werewolves do. That's missing for the aliens as well. Those extra goals always make playing as an occult Sim more interesting.

Those other options for tombstones are actually visible in the trailer, I'm surprised not many people noticed that. At the end when they show off different cemeteries and when the lead Sim goes too her grandfather's grave, there are a lot of new tombstone styles. I've noticed 7. So I think you'll just be able to set what your tombstone looks like no matter of your occult type or even with just base game

I completely expect to create ghosts in CAS after the update, but changing sims' occult status once you've already begun creating them would be AMAZING. I loved that feature in TS3. As a mods/cc user, I just hope whatever CAS plans they have doesn't break TOO much, some stuff is always going to break and that's okay but it would be lovely if it weren't a huge ordeal this time.

I'm so excited for this pack. I love that the gurus are also giving little bit of info on social media as well as squashing some of the ideas (kindly.) Really good strategy to keep up the hype but also set realistic expectations before the actual EP launch. Thanks for covering the info!

New things are fine, but they absolutely MUST continue to clean up what they've released before. Old bugs are annoying as hell, and the smaller they are, the more they annoy you because they could fix those if they sat down with it, just take the scientist plant issue, any plant, anywhere, just need a check when you load into a zone = am I in season and has anyone been in this zone after 5am (and ffs, give us 24h clock!!!), if they haven't then I'm blooming or growing right now instead.

Maybe not a full refresh of Island Living, but, the mermaid absolutely deserve a make over. They need to be made into full occults. Same for the aliens.

I'm dreaming of a painting option instead of an Urn to have an ancestry gallery in your mansion. That would be sooo cool. I'm still hoping a modder would do this. Portrait of the Dead in an old golden Frame. With the same interactions as with the gravestone. Outfit modifiable in CAS.

I love zodiacs, I use them through mods but I don’t want EA to make them lol. The compatibility system is already so broken, just another easy way for sims to get divorced within a day😂

Sims in sims 4 are more enotion based than personality based. I rarely ever see their personalities do anything besides give them emotional buffs or skill boosts

Might be a thing would be logical but then again they said the reason they made the worlds smaller was for players who didn't have machines to cope with bigger worlds, eg windenburg struggles in my game

I kinda LIKE what this pack HAS in it, however, I DO still HAVE Some CONCERNS as far as updates and bugg issues go. Proably WON'T be pre-ordering this pack. Would rather WAIT untill it comes out as well as I would LIKE to hear and see what the play testers on you tube here all HAVE to SAY about this pack buggs and all. NOT wanting to buy a possibly either half broken or completely broken pack. DONE doing that. It also jyst messes up my game MORE tbh. So yeah, I'd rather WAIT to find about MORE abour the pack from the play testers here on you tube who also talk about Sims and Sims 4 pack and bugg issues and all. 👍✌

I actually already made Nervous Subject for my game, along with lots of other Sims from The Sims 2, especially from Strangetown, like my own Curious brothers, the Smiths, Beakers and Grunts. I made them for my own special Makeover Save file, which I use every time I play a new household, instead of the games New Game button, I pick load game, lol! I even built the Curious brothers house, and built a better version of the Beakers castle like house with a lab of course, unfortunately we have nothing to torture poor Nervous with, lol! Well except for the freeze ray of course!

I think the idea of being able to change the type of sim once you already started creating them is necessary but I don't think that's a "base game" update since for every occult you need a different pack. I mean that would benefit the players who own those packs, but not players who only own base game, so the "base game update" name doesn't fit in my opinion. Anyways I think this is coming but I hope they give us something bigger, I'm like 70% sure we'll get graveyards for base game! And maybe rabbit hole funerals...

It's a shame that the zodiac signs weren't included, it would be perfect to apply it together with the Tarot. "Be careful Taurus, this week there may be a surprise for you!" "Aquarius, these days love will knock on your door." "Virgo, the promotion you wanted so much is coming." I still believe that the signs have a lot of potential in a game like the Sims, not only in the chemistry between them but also in their behavior. Even each character could have a second sign (ascendant) which is assigned according to the time they were born, so depending on the phase of the moon they can feel more of one zodiac sign than another.

Well I don't need nervous subject, because I'm currently recreating his entire family. The sim who is his mother is currently a child in my game, and her family, are the family I use for the Reaper rewards event. That how she knows Grim in my games lore. 😂

5:52 I don’t want a zodiac signs system exactly. I do want what it was in TS2, base traits everyone had. A three point system (rather than the ten TS2 had with a limited number of points to put into a certain number of personality factors. TS2 had five: sloppy/neat, shy/outgoing, lazy/active, serious/playful, and grouchy/nice. TS4 has traits that sort of go with all of those: slob, neat, loner or socially awkward, outgoing, lazy, active, perfectionist? or proper? or overachiever?, childish or goofball, mean or evil, and finally good or generous. Problem is you can only have up to six of these at once (with Growing Together or it’s only three). It also means some sims will have none of these. It doesn’t have to be these, but I would like some sort of system that gives all sims somewhere on a scale of certain traits. Give them ten points to spend, default to middle on all of them, but if they want to improve one they have to make one worse. Maybe something like a challenge trait system for sims similar to lot challenges would work. Move traits considered negative or challenging to sim challenge traits. This would allow for food related traits (vegetarian and lactose intolerant) to no longer take up personality traits. They aren’t necessarily negative, but they are a challenge. High Maintenance, the new Practice Makes Perfect, Recycle Disciple, and Kleptomaniac probably would fit as challenges. They aren’t all negative. In fact evil which definitely is negative doesn’t seem to work as a challenge. I think this could be a TS4 style way they could bring back the part of the zodiac signs I want in my game and also give us more traits per sim.

I'll be honest the only reason that I haven't gotten poolside splash is because those adult suits with the tube and inflated arm floats are like nails down a blackboard to me. If we could turn outfits off in game I'd probably buy more clothing kits. Some of the clothing I don't even want my neighbors wearing because they are ridiculous. I have to say the Life and Death pack I'm seriously interested in, it's been a while since I wanted a pack. HOWEVER, I will not preorder, I want to see that it works before I decide to buy. Just too much broken content and I'm tired of wasting my money.

The mermaid urn and tombstones are the coolest looking so far. I don't play with useless mermaids but now I'm tempted to play with some just to make them die so I can place their tombs and urns around the world for the hell of it. 😂😮

thank goodness, they wouldn’t do anything at this point. They really need to be more core building blocks of personality at the creation of a base game or they are just for the empty sake of assigning them. We can give sims any traits we want anyway.

Not exactly. Tarot and Astrology have connections, yes, but you can read tarot without astrological correlations. The two are completely separate forms of divination that facet together, but just because you can doesn't mean you should and I'm glad the Sims team thought of that because I'm SICK and tired of the astrology Ugg boot girl thinking she's witchy because she uses CoStar. 🙄

6:37 In the sims 3, when he was a toddler living with Olive, Nervous Subject was still his name. It could be argued that was his name so returning players knew that was him, but it isn't difficult to tell that they are the same characters through looks and relationships, so he might have gotten the name from something else rather than his time with the Beakers... Lorewise, I feel like his name should be kept as Nervous Subject and i would love to see some hint towards why he has that name, but my hopes can't be held too high with the sims team lol

I really don't see the point of adding Zodiac signs to the Sims 4. The Sims creation is already rich as it is without it. Zodiac signs were in TS2 for personality type trait & Sims 3 for the attractions systems. But now we have traits and turn on & turn off that replace the purpose of zodiac signs of the 2 previous editions.
