Brian I realized you made a huge mistake. When those Hamster tokens entered the battlefield they were 1/1’s but thanks to Grumgully they get a +1/+1 counter each making them all 2/2’s but you also had Unnatural Growth in play and they came in during combat meaning they were all 4/4’s so you should’ve dealt 12 damage not 6

Leonard was fantastic and a very charismatic player, so I was surprised it was only his second time playing on camera and that he is quite new to playing commander. I hope to see him play MTG on more streams (even though the American sport comments went over my head). Amazonian was great as always. I think this was one of my favourite episodes.

Funnily, she could have actually won a turn earlier than she did. Untap happens before upkeep, so she could have done the last four activations before her upkeep and won.

@chriswardlaw3116 I don't believe that's true. 502.4. No player receives priority during the untap step, so no spells can be cast or resolve and no abilities can be activated or resolve. Any ability that triggers during this step will be held until the next time a player would receive priority, which is usually during the upkeep step.

​​​@@wayneburgess9052she could not, the simic acendancy check is the second it activates at the beginning of your upkeep, if it didn't have the 20 when it triggered you won't win the game, because it only triggers when you have 20. This is also true if it somehow leaves the game, the check will still let you win if it had 20 before it was removed. That doesn't apply if the counters are removed from acendancy though.

38:20 My understanding too is that because Bello's ability is a replacement effect, Warstorm Surge would see itself enter because replacement effects don't use the stack, there is no time to cast an instant when the replacement effect happens, like putting +1/+1 counters on miscutter Hydra for example, so, when Warstorm enters Bello's replacement effect happens, then Warstorm sees itself and triggers.

The group hug deck: normally draws everyone cards, increases mana output for everyone, and sometimes accidentally wins the game because group hug turns to group smother in card draw This group hug precon: peace was never an option, counter spells, and board wipes gotta love it

INTERESTING SIDE NOTE: The first step to declare blockers step is always to declare blockers. Once that has been done then priority should pass to players however at 1:10:00 in the video, with no declaration of blockers, Olivia should gain control of the coveted jewel, draw 3 cards, and untap it because some creatures were not blocked. Everything else would go off as shown in the video. They just missed the part where Olivia should of drawn 3 more cards which could of changed the outcome of the game. Please correct me if I am wrong but I believe this is how this works.

Fun fact for anyone else wanting to play Ms. Bumbleflower like i do: she can put counters on OTHER creatures too, including your opponents' creatures! You can cast spells on other people's turns to give their attackers flying and make deals to hit otherwise tricky targets. Its group hug, spread the love!

I love how often Brian becomes Archenemy because of other players. Vow of Loyalty gave Brian a huge advantage. Leo using the Path to Exile in his turn gave Brian a free land and the possibility to recast his commander. Stuff like that often gets overlooked at casual tables but they're instrumental know how a game state happened.

I loved Leonard Williams when he played for USC. I was ok when he went to the Seahawks bc the niner hawks rivalry has been over since Richard Sherman played for the niners. BUT now he gets upset when Olivia is repping then niners. Poor guy will never beat the niners 😊
