Living where you want to live is part of a luxury lifestyle. You're not settling. You chose to live in this amazing place. You had a lot of struggles when you were a child and you made a great life for yourself and it's better with Paul. I'd love to see a weekly vlog. I'd even love to see a vlog on how you decide to arrange your studio and your closet.

Not settling but getting settled in. Maybe I misspoke. Thank you so much for the acknowledgement of how far I've come. I appreciate that. Life is certainly better with Paul, too. I will do a vlog on the new studio and closet and decisions I made about those. I'm still very much in the process of working on that and the other rooms. My bathroom is finished and a few other things have come together but it's been like putting together a puzzle when you don't even have the pieces.

@@AutumnBeckman No, I am the one who was not clear. What I meant was that you didn't just settle for something (or someone) you didn't want. You worked hard and made good decisions (except selling some of those gorgeous bags!) to make something of yourself and have a good life. You can't say that about everyone. I know some highly educated women who really screwed up their lives and what should be their golden years are rust years. They hate living where they do. They don't have money to spend on things they like to do. One had two losers for husbands and is working two jobs at the age of 66! Sending hugs to you and Paul and the pets.

I am definitely much more relaxed. Teachers in my former school district went back to work this week and I can't tell you how happy I am not to be there. I do feel some self-induced pressure to get back to work but I have to keep reminding myself that it's okay to take this time to move in and get settled and do a few other things before diving back into the job search. Paul thinks I shouldn't even start looking for another job until next year. I'm not sure if I want to wait that long but we'll see.

I’m sure you will get great content for us. Maybe it is a good thing that your new home is smaller because the older you get, the less stuff you need and be out and about. I think your vlogs will be good because you are making dedicated time to explore your new area. Today was the anniversary of my husband’s stroke. Most people probably have no idea, how much work a good vlog takes 😅(cause a good vlog makes it seem so smooth and easy 😁). Very ambitious to make one each and every week 👌

We found a German restaurant on the Oregon coast for dinner yesterday! I wasn't expecting much but it was actually pretty good. We had bratwurst with sauerkraut and mustard and German style potato salad. Are those actually German dishes or Americanized versions of German food? When you do the voice overs for your fabulous vlogs, do you edit the video first then record the voice over while you're watching it or do you have another method?

@@AutumnBeckman yes all the dishes mentioned, are very traditional German and served together aswell - so it sounds quite accurate 👌(there are some dishes that are famous for cetrain areas.. Bratwurst for example is very typical for my area close to Nuremberg, Bavaria). I actually always think, that my vlogs are so poorly made 😅🙈, cause I hardly ever have any sound from the recording itself and my vlog footage is mainly filmed on the phone. (And I never have a concrete concept beforehand, I just film random clips 😅) When I then put together a vlog, I put all my footage in my editing software and decide on the order, delete some clips, that are too shaky or boring and then I do the voiceover (without having a lot of a plan, what I even want to tell beforehand). I just start talking, from beginning to end. If I have nothing to say about a clip anymore, I usually cut out a part whilst editing… but more often, I have somewhat more to say than the lenght of the clip itself, so that I slow down the overall speed of it, so that I have some more seconds to talk (or I use a freeze frame, but I think that works just well for my outlet vlogs, where I show items and tell prices.. it probably does not work so well, if it‘s an adventure/narration vlog, cause the freezeframe can disturb the flow of the video). Hope I was able to explain it 😁

There are hot days and cold days. The difference is, on the left coast is those days will not always follow the seasons. I'm a native -- older than you and youger than Paul -- and the weather has always been this way and it is not so unusual. The trick is, in addition to tank tops and sweaters (including Comfys), to become creative with fans and electric throws. I, myself, don't have an air conditioner and rarely turn on my heater. However, I don't have pets. You'll figure it out. ;)

I still remember when I moved to Oregon and how deliriously happy I was. I love seeing how happy you are. The ocean gets warmest in September or thereabouts. The fall is often the best time to visit coast. I am in southern Willamette valley but have often traveled up where you are. Husband was raised in Oregon City and we lived there for a while.

My friend who visits family in Oregon often posts about the Oregon coast. She talked about the tourist town Bandon along the coast. She mentioned Umqua ice cream at Face Rock Creamery. I wonder if that was the ice cream you were trying to remember in an earlier post. Sound like her favorite mexican restaurant is in Coos Bay in that area too. I am so looking forward to your coming vlog. It will be so fun to visit the Oregon coast with you guys and your fur and feather babies. I grew up in the bay area and ya living near the cost most places don't have AC. When I was a kid we'd just put a fan on and open all the windows and doors. That was enough. As an adult I'd do the same. We'd get a nice breeze from the bay so even when it was hot it wasn't unbearable but the past decade it has worsened and there are more and more days of 100+ degree weather which was very rare when I was a kid. I have friends and family in Portland and Seattle and besides the snow and more rain the spring and summer weather was about the same. I'm glad you moved somewhere you loved because you wanted to. Not everyone gets to do that so it's nice that you and Paul were like, we love it here why not move. My hubby and I moved for his job a few years ago and we can't stand the humidity where we are now. I do miss the Cali weather. Foggy beaches and ice cold water is normal. My hubby lived a block from the beach when we met and I remember him always wanting to go walk on the beach and I was like, it's cold and foggy why? LA has the warm and sunny beaches but the water is still cold lol

I’m interested in your blog and your adventures. In all honesty I’m not as interested in luxury handbags these days. I think a combo of everything would be nice, kinda of luxury mixed with it. I stopped following all luxury handbag channels so you’re the only one I’m following now. I live on the coast and I never take it for granted. I love all the fog. I live in Dana Point. It gets warmer the further inland you go and that’s the way it is on the west coast, micro climates.

You must be very patient and not triggered by clutter to be able to postpone unpacking while you plan and purchase for your new place. Every time I moved I claimed I was going to wait until I had the new furniture and settled on an arrangement before I unpacked - and then I immediately unpacked because living amongst boxes was fraying my nerves. It was worth the work to rearrange a little bit later to feel like I was actually settled into my new home from the first.

I'm anxious to get everything out of the boxes but there's nowhere to put things until I get extra cabinets (arriving tomorrow). I can't permanently place my current cabinets until the new ones arrive so I can't put things on them since they'll have to be moved. Ultimately, I'm just avoiding having to move all the things multiple times. Also need a new desk and a few seating options. It's been a real challenge trying to find pieces that check ALL my boxes and are affordable and all work together.

@@AutumnBeckman Good luck with everything. It is hard trying to fit your old life onto a new space. I ended up sitting in the middle of the kitchen floor crying during one moving-in because the apartment had half the cabinet space of my old house and I had no idea where my kitchen supplies were going to go (about half went in storage).
