Scott needs to and I think, WILL put some mongrel back into Essendon. Say what you want about his Norf teams but they were tough, gritty teams who always came at you. I have faith that we've chosen the right coach but he needa to be listened to and supported. Sheedy & Dodoro need to go. EFC has been a boy's club for far too long for absolutely no reward.

Heppell saying, "he has put it on the players", I find bewildering. He was club captain for a long time, and literally we had no progression. If he calls his leadership good, then I don't know what is. Laughing after games, smiling after beltings, no finals wins in 19 years, very laid back attitude "yeah she'll be right". He needs to get out completely. Zac couldn't have become captain quick enough.

What annoyed me the most was how passionate Hepple was when he was on 'on the couch' last year dropping f bombs about how they were playing, yet it never translated to on field aggression. Mediocrity runs through into McGrath's vice captaining style courtesy of Hepple.

The Brisbane team from 2005 to 2018 wasn't very fearful unit from what I remember browny. Sometimes success takes a long time. Our last 6 weeks or so were disappointing, the first two thirds of the year were good. I was far from disappointed. None of these flogs expected essendon to finish higher than 13th yet we only fell away last few weeks to finish 11th. Give us a break.

Scott was appointed to the coaching position in September last year the week before the Grannie. How can he be shocked ? It's a cop-out. He had ample time to say " OK enjoy the trip and be back here in a month and fit because hard work starts from day 1. Rutten was sacked and Scott was apointed due to his "success as a senior coach and AFL administrator" and big things were expected. The last 2 games showed a side that has lost its passion and the failure rests on the coaches shoulders as much as the players. Time for Scott to look into the mirror and take some of the responsibility himself .... not just blaming his" late start".

It's all between the ears. All these players in the AFL are already fit. But you can't think you have one a game until the final siren sounds. It's frustrating as an Essendon supporter to see them consistently lose games after leading by four goals midway through the last quarter. that's in excusable for any team, But the reality is that Essendon appear to do this more than any other team in the league. This is what I would be addressing in the off season.

K Cornes averaged 24 disposals over 300 games and played with Gavin Wanganeen and both Borgoynes so he knows talent when he sees it (Taranto also averages 24 and skills wise is way closer to Cornes than Wanganeen)

Disagree. Scott went to the board at North after a preliminary final loss and said the list needs to be stripped. Archer disagreed (he was effectively running the board) so Scott had to go. What happened at North wasn't Scott's fault,he was actually right. The difference now is Essendons list is a lot younger than North's was at the same time.

Finally good hear more people calling out AFL players horrible attitudes outside of the club. I called this out last week and thank god it's being brought up again, if I was an Essendon fan and saw the players all packing up to go on a nice warm holiday overseas after that performance, I would spread my membership no questions asked. You play for the club, you represent the club on and off the field, and your wage is being payed by the supporters who don't deserve to be shunned by their own players every year. I'm looking forward to seeing what change is going to be made at the club next year, good on Scott for putting his foot down now after this horrible 2023 season

Essendon had 4 more wins this year than what they had last year. Could getting 2 cracks at both West Coast and North Melbourne have had anything to do with this? Take those out of the equation and the number of wins isn't much more than what they achieved last season. No more than 9 wins, probably 15th on the ladder, which is precisely where they finished last season. They haven't improved if you ask me.

Here's why you're dumb. Subtract the wins against West Coast (oh wait we lost to them lol) and North last year as well., that's 6 wins vs your 9 now. Beat 3 top 8 sides this year (melb, carlton, giants) while losing to port twice and sydney by under a goal (and if adelaide got in like they should've thats 4 top 8 teams. Last year beat sydney and brisbane reserves.

Terrible decision by WC to retain Simpson. Again, as per normal, the Board has showed a lack of spine. Remove Dodoro , recruitment manager and those staff training the players. The players we are getting aren’t good enough. They trained every week but they don’t know the basic football, lacking of confidence and definitely cannot kick a straight goal. It feels like some players turns up on the game unprepared but just waiting or satisfied to get paycheque. The passion to win is not there. Too lazy and just want to get rid of the ball without aiming to pass on the right direction. You cannot win all the time but at least be competitive. Instead we are getting trashed every week. The members are more passionate than the players. Cannot believe that they still sign Heppel. Get rid of Shiel, he has not played for a long time. Unfortunately, this club are more focused and engaging on woke , political views than seriously focusing on winning the game and kicking a goal.
