Big changes could ease downtown Orlando bar restrictions

With the current moratorium on new bars set to expire on Sept. 1, the city of Orlando is preparing to recommend permanent solutions following an increase in security measures downtown in 2022.

Their attempt to make “people feel safe” downtown has resulted in a major decline in patrons visiting the area. In short, they shot themselves in the foot with their extreme measures, leaving people to choose alternatives. Declines in patrons doesn’t just effect bar/club owners, it effects the city too as the decline in paid parking downtown leads to a decline in income for the city as a whole. Everyone is feeling the results of this decision.
