Structural. I graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, so this should be interesting.

I don’t understand why they keep changing this exam, it very frustrating because it takes too long to prepare for this exam.
@CivilEngAcademy10 ай бұрын
They try to keep things timely and on par with industry trends but it is annoying to change an engineering exam every 5 years or so years. It's costly on all fronts.

@tkgxcod Hey are you still preparing is there any chance we can prepare together or you can share some material with me i am at scratch rn Thanku
@bricegreco82929 ай бұрын
What’s frustrating is some state boards have limits on the number of times you can attempt the exam. If they continue changing the exam between attempts, that doesn’t accurately reflect their ability and is working against the test taker who has decided they will continue trying no matter what.

Took the exam in March and unfortunately I did not pass. While it is disappointing and bums me out at least now I only have to worry about studying for one discipline. I took Water and Environmental this time, but passed on my results I didn't do so well for the in depth questions so I may consider switching to another, however I really don't have real life experience in those other areas of civil engineering, other then construction and I have been told my others that they made a mistake choosing construction. Suggestions? Should I go with my gut and stay with Water/Environmental or consider switching?
@CivilEngAcademy7 ай бұрын
Stay with it. Take it as learning experience. By switching you're completely starting over where if you keep going you're building onto what you know already and have learned. You can do this!

Thanks for the info. Has CEA upgraded its lectures to reflect the new changes in geotechnical PE? I am interested.
@CivilEngAcademy8 ай бұрын
We are working on them! Our aim is to have them rolling out in April. We are starting with geo and go from there.

@@CivilEngAcademyin the meantime, is the change that drastic from the current depth? I scheduled the exam in early July and wanted to begin studying. I’d appreciate your suggestions. Thanks.
@CivilEngAcademy8 ай бұрын
@@ibnzuhr8722 nope... Just more of it! I would imaging it's still easier and harder type questions and plenty of theory type questions. The same as it is... Just more related to the topic you choose.

The best intake is "there will be more conceptual quastions"

There will still be plenty quantitative problems still there for sure.

What about the architecture exam, did they changed as well or just for civil
@smt25078 ай бұрын
Awesome video! Thank you for the in depth update, pardon the pun. What is the best way to go about studying for the conceptual problems for the new 2024 exam?
@CivilEngAcademy8 ай бұрын
For conceptual problems we have 100 theory questions on our site you can grab. But in general as you study problems be thinking about how the question could be rephrased or asked in a different way. It's the best way to think outside the box on these. Think like a teacher and how you would ask it.

@ very correct I studied with my cousin, but he spent more time on his phone than studying. Despite this, he passed the PE Exam while I failed. When I asked how he did it, I found out that he received help from Mr Richard.

I just want you'll to know that if you are out there and you are being really hard on yourself right now for something that has happened ... it's normal. That is what is going to happen to you in life. No one gets through unscathed. We are all going to have a few scratches on us. Please be kind to yourselves and stand up for yourself, please.

If I have 6 years of experience and just passed my FE do I have to wait two more years ? Or can I sign up for the PE?

You should be able to sign up and go! Check with your state's DOPL for sure, but it sounds like you're good to take it.

@@CivilEngAcademy Is your test material up to date?
@FB-bf1ww5 ай бұрын
Since the PE exam is going toward the "SME" route, and not having as much diverse testing, that leads me to believe more states may start only allowing the licensee to practice in area they tested in (which I kind of agree with).
