I remember when you first put that motor together everybody was running something like a proline or some exotic engine set up, but you ran them all down with a pontiac motor with Edelbrock performer heads CHIEF.LMAO TO THE BANK

He's pretty much been running that setup for about 10 years I think. So it was even before any of the street outlaws were running 481x or anything like that. One of the biggest changes to his combo was when Butler made the solid aluminum block, (aka "big chief" IAII) around the time of the crowmod I believe. I want to say most of them were running chevy big blocks when he first put this together.

On the anti-roll bar... And this is an observation ... there's no way to lub/grease the bearing on each end. It would seem that the outer race would have either a circular or cross hatch groove and thru hole for lub/grease and a zerk for priming. The groove does not need to be deep but enough to allow several cc's of slickems/go-quick to be applied periodically. Machine tools have the same type of setup for gear changes and brakes systems.... Might help in the future.. Another O U T S T A N D I N G Vidja! GG GUYS!

I remember my 1972 GTO. Black on black with 455 HO 400 turbo and 3.55 12 bolt posi. It even had the center console 8 track player. That was a great time. My exwife wrecked it in 1979. Thats why shes my ex. Everytime i see The Crow i see my GTO. Thank you for the great memories!!!

Chuck the rounded part of the bushing in your lathe (grab it by the inside hole) use some fine grit sandpaper by hand to remove a tiny bit of the surface and follow that up with some 0000 steel wool. That sway bar will swing like it has ball bearings.

It's still crazy to me how Chief is still competitive with a fucking Pontiac. Its impressive as hell what he has done with that combo. Won an NPK invitational his first year when Daddy Dave and Murder Nova have been in the series for years with out an invitational win. Dave finally got his first NPK win this year, and Shawn is just now being competitive. I love his GTO still has a pontiac in it. He may not be everyone's favorite, but you can't deny his talent setting up a car.

early npk was awesome, that season they're was many races won won with a low 4 second eight mile, its out of hand now needed to run 3.8's to be competitive, 3.7's to win a lot of nights.
