That thing on the rear end attached to the rear diff. cover is called a Watts Linkage. It allows the axle to move up and down although it is attached to the body. Unlike a Panhard bar, which serves the same purpose, it doesn’t move the axle side to side as it’s moving up and down. With a Watts Linkage, the axle remains centred under the body, improving the handling compared to a stock version with only a Panhard Bar.

@TheLolisuck4 ай бұрын
I’ve owned my boss302 for 12 years now, and it’s also white/black.. best car i’ve ever owned. This is one you got is really nicely modified the watts link in the back with the control arms from maximum motorsports is pretty expensive, not to mention the splitter and the trans and even the roll cage.. definitely was raced around the track, keep in mind some boss specific parts that are no longer in production by ford like the side exhaust, stickers, gauge cluster (higher redline than gt), dash panels, door cards, seats. You can still get the alcantara steering wheel and shifter boot. The a/c vents and interior door handles are the same from a gt500 satin instead of chrome
@josephgarrel57284 ай бұрын
u can still get the guage cluster

Mustang driver here. The trunk lid button is on the center console left of the shifter where traction control and hazards are. Also that looks like the cortex watts link on the 8.8 rear end. Less lateral movement than a panhardbar. Biggest plus it has is more stability on a bump in a high speed corner. Could pare it with their torque arm with the right mid pipe for better entry and exit on corners and putting the power down. It also eliminates the terrible 3rd link UCA.

Great to see the Boss 302 finally get some love. I remember when you first teased it at the end of a video a long time ago. I own a Grabber Blue 2013 Boss 302, and absolutely love it. I don’t ever see myself selling it. I vote keeping the wheels the same color. It, along with the red paint, reminds me of the 2011 Boss 302R1 used in the Grand-Am Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge. And that one looked to be inspired by the Bud Moore 1969 Boss 302
@Bertinator-nm9ld4 ай бұрын
That's pretty awesome! I also picked up a Grabber Blue 302, a few years back. I've added 52,000 miles on top of the 28,000 that the previous owners put on, and it's been an awesome car that I've loved every minute of! I think mine has also found its permanent home. I'd recommend removing the clutch assist spring and buying the MGW shifter, if you haven't already. Those two modifications fixed most all of the high RPM lockout and sticky clutch issues that I initially ran into. The upgrade to finally fix the last little bit will probably be an aftermarket clutch, but I'm happy with where it sits now. Wonderful machines. Hope you enjoy yours!

I don't know how to explain it thoroughly, but I bought my 2011 GT with 60,000 on it a few years back. It had brand new tires all around. When we test drove it, making a left turn out of side streets it made a clunking sound, not always but sometimes, getting on it on the straights it felt like it wanted to kick the rearend out to the left, I thought it was just how it was hooking up. Two weeks later after purchase and only three hundred miles, both rear tires were down to the cords on the inner most of the tires from regular driving. Took to a frame shop for a four-wheel alignment and found out the rear was kicked over an inch to the left, also the axle tubes were bent in a slight horseshoe - not visible to the eye - and unless the rearend was taken to a driveline place to straighten out it could not be used. Cost me $2000 for a new rear end. The Carfax did not show ever being in an accident as car fax is only good for what's reported. I took plenty of pictures and told the dealership and the frame shop specs, they cutoff contact with me. I kept the original rearend as the center section is good and I hope to get the thing repaired.

while you are pulling on the rail with the forklift, give the end a few good hits with a sledgehammer, you can also tap the kinked area with a smaller hammer to force it back into shape. its not the best idea to secure the other side of the car through the wheel/suspension like that, a better bet would be to run the strap through the engine bay to the damaged rail.
