Today is officially the 3 Year Anniversary of my natural hair journey that began with a big chop on April 17, 2017. This video is a recap of how my hair has transitioned over the years and the progress I have made in health, growth, and retention.

I big chopped my hair exactly on December 23, 2019 and it was the best decision I’ve ever done for my hair! Should’ve done it sooner! I had my ups and downs but I know it’ll get better. Can’t wait to celebrate my 1 year anniversary of anti-heat natural hair in the coming months!!! May your hair flourish way longer, thicker, and fuller for years to come Robyn!!

@@RobynMNeal it's going great thanks, i started incorporating henna, fenugreek and moringa in my regimen. I also now make most of my pre-poos, dc's and leave-ins. Im now trying to make a curling/twisting ultra moisturising cream using shea butter and aloe, from watching alot of youtubers diy's😅. All this really helps my hair is healthier than its ever been. But let me say with all these diys i still use Cantu products they work for me!

@@damarissambo8837 i make a paste with 2 tablespoons henna and one tablespoon moringa mix with hot water or black tea. Let sit for 24 hours then when i go to use i add a diy growth oil recipe from curly proverbs let sit in my hair then followup with a deep conditioner and i always add honey to the shop bought deep conditioners for extra moisture retention.

My big chop Oct. 6, 2020 I had about 1 1/2 inches of hair on my head at the longest section. I’ve learned some things such as I am low porosity, my hair loved banana powder & honey so I pre poo often with this ingredients. I haven’t really started styling my hair yet. My main focus was learning how to keep it healthy meaning a moisture/protein balance and coming up with a wash regimen. Now that I’m in a comfortable place with that (still learning but I know enough and it’s working) I can turn to styling. I’d more than likely start with wash n go’s but my hair is long enough to plat now. My twists look like fat juicy turds, not sure how a twist out will look but now is the time to try since I’m not getting out as much due to COVID-19. My biggest struggle is going to be the styling part 🤦🏽‍♀️

Wash and gos are surely the place to go. I never did that until I got 2-3 years in the game. But I think it's good to learn and train your hair.
