Company i work for just bought and installed a set of 4 roll plate rolls. Big selling point was being able to roll cones in "automatic mode". We were told the only input needed was plate thickness, width, diameter, and yield point and push start. Lol needless to say, Mr. Man is pissed. The tech said there is no software currently available that can roll cones in automatic mode. You have to slip the rolls in order to roll one and the machine can't keep track of its rotation. They sure are pretty though! Ehh, we needed a newer set anyway. The old 3 roll pinch roll is wore out and parts aren't made for them anymore, they have to be made as they are removed.

Anyone know what wrap is on the rolls? Going to have to experiment and find out but looks like it helps with slip

It is used to prevent austenitic sheet plates from contacting ferritic rolling cylinder

what is the roller wrap material made of?
