Grew up fishing all over the Glades in 50s 60s and 70s. It IS a spiritual place. I truly love the Glades and the memories I have in my heart and soul of this wonderful place.

The big nbes were timbered many years ago. Those dwarfs found in the Glades and Big Cypress can be 500 years old +. @@BrianCarnevaleB26

Spent every minute I could in the Big Cypress Swamp, from 1952 until 2003 . 2003 was the last hunting season I spent in my very favorite place! I’ve since moved to the Midwest, and this type of hunting just doesn’t compare to the experiences I had in the swamp! I shall miss that place and those experiences till my last breath!

I was born in S FL. Dad took us out in the Glades when I was little. It's definitely a Spiritual place. Once you fall in love with it, you never forget it. It's a hard place but you feel the connectivity. Good things are being done to restore / protect but somehow, we just don't trust mother nature enough to allow free flow. Big Cypress is in better shape than the Glades because we took the flow away from the Glades. If somehow the pumping stations stop, the Glades will die.

I love love LOVE this video! I listen to it whenever I cannot sleep…. it’s so relaxing and no commercials, and makes me want to head that direction! Do any of you locals have anything to say about when PHISH did a show there? If you are not familiar, they draw a very big crowd, some with tickets some not with tickets……. just wondering who might have what to say about that event🤙🏽

Why not a chip? Collars get hooked and they kill. Seen it to may times on too many different animals. Hooked on a branch or fence they're stuck and die from exposure. No water, food and in the elements.... shame and happens way to often. Found a friend's dog hung himself on a runner cable. Looked soo safe. Had a 40x 40 chain link a nice dog house trees. But he went on a vacation and had a neighbor looking out. He'd put the dog out at day and in at night . But one night he ran around the dog house and the cable got stuck them tried to jump on to it. When he went back down . It was on the wrong side and the cable was too short. Shame ,just didn't see that coming on a cable 20 ft long.

Don't feel too sorry for them, they are all millionaires now by the time they are 18. They each get close to $130,000/yr from the billion dollar revenue generated from the casinos and Hard Rock Hotels all over the world. I bet they would rather have that, than the swamp.

What about the tribes that were there before them. Seminoles were originally Creek, and they massacred the original inhabitants.

Towards the end of the video the guy that claims to be an Indian is not Indian but a Mexican you can tell by his accent and the way he and his family look. He is claiming to be Indian tobise ad an advertisement to better his business. At least that is my opinion. I live in NJ and there are tons of Mexicans here.
