It’s mind blowing to see tropical forests with air plants growing on giant Cuban royal palms - and forests of long leaf pine and palmettos in the same national park. What an unbelievably magical place. Not to mention the incredible wildlife biodiversity

Some very impressive & well-traveled people have believed this to be the most beautiful single place in the world. It’s so powerful as a piece of nature that it almost shuns mankind from trying to alter it. Stubborn and beautiful part of the planet. I have always been surprised/disappointed that there are no primates native to the Everglades but I guess that’s how the cookie crumbles.

Well there's primates in it now. I could never call any single place the most beautiful for the expressions of nature are too unique and supreme in incomparable essence. I really hope to experience the everglades soon

I lived very close to the Everglades for most of my life, never realizing or appreciating how unique all these things are. I see them explain things like gumbo limbo and Cyprus knees and I think wow those are some pretty unique trees but my whole life they’ve been so farmiliar

Nurtures the soul Real shit!! You can be having the worst day but you just go out there and not be doing anything and all the city bs just melts away soon as you turn onto that one long street with bushes on either side

You did a great job describing my favorite place on earth. I've always been in The Big Cypress Preserve hunting on land holdings of friends, hunting non-native and invasive species such as the wild pigs that are so numerous and destructive to the natural landscape. It's an honor to be part of a removal team, but for me I'm no longer physically able to get out there to do my part in keeping invasive species to a dull roar and this saddens me. I hope our younger generations will continue the work of clearing the non-native species and regenerating the damaged areas by planting the native plants and trees.

It was said there is no place like it, the everglades. Based on the video images I just watched there are places just like it along the Myakka & Peace rivers which I visited As well as Anna Maria Island Estuary & State park areas. Same types a dwarf Cyprus and mangrove swamps. Of course, no as vast but the same types of views which really have stayed with me and it is almost like I was there again in my favorite Florida Country watching this video! Or we could be 25 miles out East of the Interstate along the Myakka River in Manatee County. Or perhaps out at Robinson Preserve near where my folks had a place close to the Gulf where the same type of Cyprus and Mangrove swamps stretch for a few miles. The west coast of Florida is what remains of any "old" natural habitat other than the rivers of grass. Thanks for the great video, very well done and informative.
