@@ahbrando I actually don't see it this as Sonny's fault. Social Service just trusted some random guy to take Julian to this apartment to where supposely his father lived and dropped this kid on the doorstep without ever actually informing Kevin by saying he had a son. The kid was actually lucky that he was with Sonny because he could have ended up somewhere worst due to social services screw up. Yeah, Sonny eventually wanted to keep the kid, but at first and mostly he only lied so that he could hold on to the kid until Kevin got back.

Honestly I felt bad for all three of them in the situation. Sonny for realizing he screwed up and having to give up Julian. Julian felt bad because he thought he was the reason he was leaving. Arthur Brooks for having to have such a hard occupation and having to take Julian away. Look at the sadness in both his and Julian's eyes when they exchange glances at 1:03-1:05. Arthur looks like he's trying to say, "I'm sorry son, but this is my job. I have to do this."

Sandler is very underrated in Hollywood. While critics have warmed up to him in more serious roles I think he is unfairly snubbed by the Academy. He should have been nominated for Hustle the Netflix original film he did last year. He did comedy and drama wonderfully. Even if he has made stupid comedies the man has talent and he deserves recognition.
