Watching British Sea Power play at Festival number 6 this weekend reminded me of your favourite wrestler, Big Daddy, so here he is...SPOILER.....but...this is a rare clean loss for Daddy - not that he does the job of course.

Nice match, nice to have seen Big Bruno for first time here on KZbin after seeing only picture of him.

This was the main reason we used to watch Saturday World of sports programme, but then there was only BBC1 , 2 and ITV back in the 70s

Never again done on TV, but there were about 10 or so losses away from the cameras after 1978. Four like this where the tag partner took the deciding KO or second pinfall - 1979 - Haystacks and King Kong Kirk beat Daddy and Mike Marino, summer 1983 Stax and Kirk again beat Daddy and Mal Sanders. December 1983 triple tag - Haystacks, the bigger of the two Masked Marauders (Scrubber Daly) and manager Charlie McGee beat Daddy and two others, I forget who 1986 - Fit Finlay and Bully Boy Muir beat Daddy and Ritchie Brooks when Finlay piledrives and pins Brooks for the deciding fall. Also about 6 times Daddy got himself DQd after too much coming in the ring or whacking people with the corner bucket finally got him that third public warning - it last happened as late as 1987 against Drew McDonald and Rasputin. There were also a similar number of double disqualifications. Generally these losses were used to set up return matches the following month which Daddy would win decisively - in front of packed houses eager to see if the heels could do it again, which of course they couldn't.

As confirmed by the commentator, first time I’ve seen Haystacks get a win over Big Daddy, albeit tag teams.

Yeah but he really didn't beat Big Daddy. That Wesnor guy was weak.

@@jaymike3302 Better people than Gary Wensor took that loss over the next few years. Mike Marino in 1979, Mal Sanders in 1983 TWICE and Richie Brooks in 1986.

@@kurtvanderbogarde8402 Haystacks is a force of nature. He can beat anyone except Big Daddy.

@@jaymike3302 check out the second of the Daddy & Stax vs Tibor & Viedor matches from Daddy's villain days in '76. The good guys tie Daddy up in the ropes in the corner and then double-posting Stax into Daddy. Daddy gets squished!

Mind you, @@jaymike3302 in a shoot most of the young lightweight wrestlers could have easily enough got Stax or Daddy down on the mat and screaming a submission in about 45 seconds. The bigger they come, the further down they have to reach to defend against a legdive from an awkward angle.
