Chuck’s line “....they wanted me for the ARMY or whatever, pictured me giving a Damn, I said never” was so rebellious, and so contrary to what white Americans saw as correct. Those lines basically made you aware of the fact that a lot of black Americans felt completely marginalized by the American Dream, and furthermore weren’t having it.

I have to disagree. This becomes a bit clearer when you know the backstory of the receipt of the letter from the government and that it was a Vietnan era draft letter Chuck's uncle had received and his unwillingness to be inducted. MANY white Americans were very much against the war in Vietnam, just as Blacks were.

That “Nations of Millions” album changed my life. Growing up in Louisiana, I had never heard of Khalid Muhammad or Louis Farrakhan until hearing that Public Enemy album. That album expanded my consciousness, spoke to my soul and forced me to study black history and culture. My first concert was PE and it was off the chain.

Big Daddy Kane & Treach should do an album together produced by Apollo Brown.
@mattsheezy54694 жыл бұрын
I’m sure that they would if the people actually supported. There’s been quite a few records like that, but unfortunately nobody buys them, and it’s not worth their time. Remember that record with Treach, Bumpy Knuckles, & Trick Trick?
@Mr.Majestic774 жыл бұрын
Matthew Coolness I feel you, but I think people want some real substance now more than ever. With this COVID 19 pandemic, people have open eyes and ready for quality music. Big Daddy Kane & Treach together would be a legendary duo. No disrespect to Bumpy Knuckles & Trick Trick, but a Kane & Treach collaboration on Apollo beats would be on a whole diffrent level.

@@Mr.Majestic77 i disagree. And the problem is cats (even us older and fans of the culture) want shit that's typical to the taste we have of hip hop. See when we first got into it, they gave us something we didn't know that was dope and made us get into it! We didn't really care about who the producers was, we just wanted that dope shit. That part of the music is missed yell

@@UniqueAccessEnt You know, if you look at all of P.E.'s Titles, they were ACTUALLY telling a Story. Meaning you can try it peacefully first. When that doesn't Work, then it's time to Yo! Bum rush The Show(Show of Politics) But when you(the powers that be) try to stop it, just know that It will take a Nation's Millions to hold us back. Because we as African Americans want to be hEARd, our perspective hince the Fear of A Black Planet. But even then........the Enemy had to Strike BLACK(Apocalypse '91) because all of us aren't on the same sheet which is why they said there's Muse Sick N Hour Mess Age.
