The flows & cadence of hip hop also changed. No one sounded the same. And the artists from this era gave birth, credence and lessons to those who you may feel are The Best in the 90's. You have to give credit to those who influenced them. Their biggest influence come from songs & lyrics from those years. And for sure those artists who were the most impactful to them come from 1987/1988. They have all told you out of their own mouth. Hands down the best Years '87/'88

Two legends Long Live Kane & Ghost Supreme Clientele easily ranks high among the soundtracks of my early adulthood. Takes me back to Junior- Senior year undergrad. So many memorable bars on that album. We'd try to decode the slang. That was the thing; show that you were a true head...that you knew the lingo. It was an obsession. We'd rock Wallabees; get'em dyed to match the colors in our clothes. Lo'ed down! Gold fangs...Studying 120. Man, what a time to be alive. Thank you to both of these men for their art and contribution to culture.

BDK talking about passing on the game to the next gen.. made me think how much i miss the times shoutouts at the end of album used to be a thing.. for more than a hot minute. A great example was Tribe's midnight marauder album cover.. but yea.. missing those times of shoutouts.. and just more scratching in hip hop songs.
