Amber my first child was a very bad sleeper. He would sleep 15 minutes and be awake for about 3 hours then all over again. He was the best for his father. Now at 58 his heart is almost gone they are saying he could have maybe about 4 or 5 months to live. Guess who he wants now mom. Prayers would be appreciated I'm 🙏 for God's healing. God bless you from Michigan ❤️

We did the cry it out. We also never woke them for feedings as long as they were growing. Our daughter started sleeping 6 to 8 hours at 6 weeks old and our son started at 10 weeks. This was also with the support of our pediatrician. We were certainly blessed

Babies cries are different for each of their needs. The hungry cry, the I'm wet cry the I need held cry, the I don't feel good cry and the I'm so sleepy cry. You know as his mother what he needs. Once his needs for food and changing are met then do as you did for your other three. You are a terrific Mom. You are successfully raising well grounded, well mannered, healthy, loved children. Don't doubt yourself. Be kinder to yourself. Hugs.

The llama run was so funny!! Haha Mav is such a little cutie. Our little one is only a couple weeks younger than him. Luckily both of our kids have been good sleepers. We just make sure to really stick to a routine during the day and night for feedings and naps. And make sure her belly is nice a full before bed. White noise machine and humidifier every night too. All babies are different-you are doing great mama. You know your baby best so just do what feels right for you 😊

AMBER: Sounds to me like Mav is just like his sister. A have a few thoughts. At night at around his dinner feeding try giving him some rice cereal diluted real loose with your milk. Don't let him nap after dinner. . Then make his last feeding at around 10:00. Rock him to sleep with a paci if he needs it. If he wakes up before 4 hours don't let him scream. Pick him up rock him but DON'T feed him. Use paci if you have to. I think he likes to nurse all the time. Also, try holding him a little less during the day. He may be your last one so enjoy every minute of him. Even in the middle of the night. This too shall pass. Just try to take more naps during the day. You got this Amber. Elaine from Florida 🌴😎♥️🙏

Hold that baby, he is still 6 months. I never did cry it out. I've sleep trained 5 babies. We rock and do white noise, lullaby music and fan noise. Very dark n cool room. Same exact routine with bath n lotion rub down prior.. Sleep feed at 10/11 still but no talking n in hud dark room. Lay back down and put a vibrator Machine on bassinet. Make sure he sleeps cool. 68 degrees. Hasn't failed met yet but I never did this in my bedroom....their crib. Rice cereal is pretty arsenic and just a belly filler and converts to sugar so maybe a little sweet potatoes with 6 pm feeding.
@tar29272 жыл бұрын
I did exactly last bottle feeding at 10:00 with rice cereal at 3 month old to stop those hungry pain.....startedwith 1 tablespoon....guess what 34 years later she sleeps 8-10 hours and so do I...LOL . But seriously the reason Mav is waking up is because he is hungry and that breast milk is not making a turd.....feed that child..lol.

I have used the Ferber method for 35 years. Excellent method! Consistency is the key! Of course as long as they are not sick. I have 5 boys of my own who are grown and I currently run a daycare home. I have used this method with my own children and daycare children during naps. I’m sure I have grooves in my floor from pacing over the years but I realize the importance of not only children needing to learn to sleep but also parents getting sleep. Maverick is an adorable little baby and you are an excellent mom. Keep up the good work.

Amber, we did cry it out method as well. It was probably around 7 months. Only took about a week for us and he never cried more than maybe 15 min during the beginning couple of days. Years ago when I had my babies I think I simply got so exhausted that I slept through their crying. All of my four slept through the night (6 hours at least) by the time they were 4 months old. I also nursed.

Dolly llama haha too cute! It’s a bit exhausting for you but I did let them cry for 7 to 10 minutes but they are only sweet little ones for a little while and they won’t be like this forever so I would go and pat to soothe but ultimately if nothing worked we went to the recliner. I gave up a year of sleep for a lifetime of memories and love. And I don’t believe they manipulate a situation earlier than 3 to 4 months of age so one of us pretty much always went immediately upon them crying. The llamas are beautiful but a traumatic experience at the zoo when I was 7 (eons ago) I was so excited to feed it then it spit in my face. I was devastated.

My first baby was 9 pounds 5 1/2 oz. She was totally breast fed and slept through the night at 6 weeks old. I think that since she was so big, she nursed enough to sustain her longer. She always went 4 to 6 hours between feedings. My second baby slept through the night fairly quickly and all he required was that he was in the same room as I was. My third baby cried 24/7 for almost a year. My husband went Elk hunting for a full week, so I sent the other 2 to spend the week with their grandma. I had weaned her because I couldn't take it anymore, I was a walking Zombie and I would almost fall asleep carrying her. I put her to bed, gave her a hug and kissed her and told her that Mommy wasn't coming back in until time to get up. I stood right beside her door so that I could hear her if she started choking. She screamed herself to sleep. The next night I put her to bed and gave her a hug and a good night kids. She did a little whimpering and went to sleep No more sleepless night! You do what works for you. They are not going to suffer anxiety from being allowed to cry, just stay where you can hear them to make sure they're safe. I'm glad I only had one crier!

They have a lot of information on how to get your baby to sleep through the night and how to have them on a schedule. I have a 6 week old baby and it seems to be working, but it could also be that my baby just loves to sleep. He still wakes up for a feeding during the night but just once. What ever you decide to do is best, you know Maverick best. He is such a cute baby!

We used the happiest baby on the block method and it worked great for my little buddy. It’s a eat, play and sleep method. Also I found great luck with putting them down awake. You can rock but not till they are sleeping. We put him down drifty and and he learned to self soothe that way. We used a pacifier and white noise as well and he has been a champ sleeper since the day he came home from the hospital:) Good luck I know you will get there:) Do what works best for your family:)

At this point in Mavs life, I think you know his different cries...hunger, pain, tired, etc. You are doing just what he needs. I've always felt that you cannot spoil a baby. They need to be held, swaddled and made to feel loved. There will come a time, especially after they're crawling, when they will have to cry themselves to sleep. If those crying times become hysterical, pick them up. Check for anything that could be making them uncomfortable. Rub lavender mixed with coconut oil on them. Calm them down and put them to bed again. It worked for me most of the time. My first was a premie. I had to take him on car rides to put him to sleep. It was so hard but we got through it. He just turned 41 and we have such a deep and abiding love so I know my letting him cry himself to sleep didn't mar him for life. Same with my other 2 and my grandchildren. I pray for the best for you all. Ml ❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

My mom was a foster mom for 52 babies. This was in the early 80’s.We foster most straight from the hospital. Few from unfit mothers. And a four year old and a seven year old. Mom didn’t believe that our home had to be quite. The babies had a pack n play closer to the t.v. She always made sure they were fed, diaper changed, and sleepy to put them down. The ones who we figure out that were colicky needed sounds as in vacuum cleaner, blow dryer, or baby swing we wined up by hand lol 😆. Back then we didn’t have those stimulators or bouncing carriers. Every baby were different. I can’t remember when she started to let them cry it out. Seem like it was after they were eight weeks. Not all the babies needed the crying out method. We had some good babies too. I was about 13 years old when my mom got her first brand new foster baby that was biracial. It was not common back then at least I thought. But she was a beautiful baby girl. She end up being adopted at two weeks. She had African American babies too. Oh my goodness the looks we got when we were out in public. People were very harsh. Ummm, I’m carried away here. This isn’t what asked for. 😐 it’s just that I was glad that we were there to give them the love ❤️, and gave a home until they got their forever home. I agree the method that you mention. Start off letting them cry for so long. When I had my son, I wasn’t so lucky. He was a colicky babe. I had to drive around the block or use the heavy sound. It only lasted three months. Thank goodness 😅 Love ❤️ watching you and your family!

My oldest did not sleep through the night for a long time. I would go in to sooth her and she wouldn’t sleep unless she was on me. So this tired momma stopped fighting it and let her sleep with me. My youngest was the complete opposite. She was amazing at sleeping through the night almost from day one. I learned real quick not to pick her up if she woke up crying because then she thought it was time to be up for the day! Basically every baby is different and everyone is full of advice. You decide what works best for you and your child.

You are doing great Amber! The cry it out method is hard. I could not stand to listen to my babies cry, you're right, if feels like an eternity but like you said they don't need anything because they are changed and fed etc. Have you tried essential oils? I did that with my second and I still do. My daughter is 9 and my son is 5 and I diffuse in both their rooms. We have an oil called Gentle Baby and one called calm from our baby line and of course there's lavender. I'd love to help in anyway. I always wanted to send you a bottle of Gentle Baby but didn't want to offend anyone lol. Babies are tough, but you're doing an awesome job!

What ever you choose to do with your baby is what’s right for him. I watched my sister in law not sleep for 9 months before we adopted our son. I watched her never sleep. So obviously it’s different when you are and are not able to breast feed. However my little man still needed to eat every 2 hours. I choose to let him cry it out. Then one night he was 3 months old I was extraordinarily exhausted. He cried I could hardly get myself up. So I stuck his pacifier in his mouth and layer down. Next thing I knew it was daylight and I FREAKED out. He was still sound asleep. You are right all babies are different. When it breaks your heart it only shows how much you love Mav💙

I know that getting your little one to sleep is hard. Have you tried playing with them in the room before bed and then play with him in the bed. That way he sees his bed as a good place to be in. Have a routine with play, read a book, pray. Then tell him it's time for bed. Give him kisses and hugs. Then leave. If he has a routine every night he'll be fine. It's harder on us than it is with him. Good luck.😄

I’m a grandma. With 3 daughters they have blessed me with 8 grandchildren. I had such a hard time with the night time sleep but my suggestion would be to see what your doing during the day to help him self sooth. If he is crying during the day do you hurry and run to pick him up or do you let him find something or provide him with something to self sooth. Picking him up the time is telling him that you will always pick him up when he cry’s. You need to let others in the house know what your doing so they can help. Teaching is hard but when done with love and prayer it will work.

I am 70 and when my great gram was 106 she taught me that my son needed to cry to build his lung capacity. That was one of the hardest things I ever had to do, he is 51 now. Sending prayers your way that you are given the vision of what is right for you and Maverick because each child is different.🙏✝🙏✝🙏

Babies are smarter than people give them credit for. If Maverick learns he can cry longer than 17 minutes and you'll come get him, he will definitely do it. If you had teens right now, you'd be much more hard hearted😂
