I noticed that too. But lots of owned dogs that get fed regularly act that way too. I think the village people feed them because they aren't underweight and they're healthy. Most people in Türkiye are kind to stray animals.

The love you show these animals is so touching. I used to live in South America as an ex-pat and they had stray dogs EVERYWHERE. I would buy huge bags of dog food and bring plastic bowls and bottled water and feed the strays and make sure they had water. It was heartbreaking to see so many animals without a loving home.

Once again, you have uploaded a beautiful and heartwarming video. Thank you for your care for these stray animals. I enjoy seeing stories of cats and dogs who are friends. For his first year, my cat, Oreo (Oreo looks like D'Artagnan's girlfriend), lived with my son and his dog, a Chiweenee (Chihuahua/Dachschund mix named Ceasar-that is how my son spelled his name). They were great friends. Oreo enjoyed licking Ceasar's big ears, and Ceasar enjoyed having his ears licked. When Oreo and Ceasar were both full grown, they were about the same size. My son still has Ceasar. When Oreo was about a year old, my son gave Oreo to me. Oreo is my first real pet, and I love him very much, and I know that he loves me, too. Now, Oreo is about 8 years old, and I am almost 68 years old.

I agree that it was sad that Oreo and Ceasar were separated, but there are more details to the story: My son and his then-girlfriend found Oreo as a kitten in a bird store. When my son broke up with his girlfriend, Oreo was a sad reminder of their relationship, so my son asked me to take Oreo. I had already spent time with Oreo, and he and I had a connection. He would always look right into my eyes, and he would give me head butts, wanting me to pet his head. He still does those things with me. I think that Oreo is happy being my cat, and I am happy that he is my cat. Since I had never had a pet (besides tropical fish) I don't know if I would have ever gone out and gotten a cat if my son hadn't given Oreo to me. I also have a second cat, named Bella, that I "rescued" from another one of my sons. Bella did ok with my son at first, but he ended living in a house with about 5 of his friends. It was a very stressful situation for Bella. Whenever I visited him, she was hiding somewhere. About five years ago, when my son went out of town on a trip, he asked me to take care of Bella, and she has been with me ever since. My son's living situation is better now, and he has gotten another cat. Bella seems happy staying with me. She seems very comfortable and relaxed here, and she and Oreo get along most of the time. My third son has a golden retriever and 3 cats. They all get along very well.

I've pretty much always had stray cats and dogs. My current four cats and three dogs are all good friends. The youngest dog will gently chew on the cats who come to him for attention. It's his way of giving them some nice back scratches. He was not raised around cats, but adjusted at 5 months old to cats just fine.
