I’d normally feel a little bad for ed over Liz’s comment but I can completely see that this is her “revenge.” She knows he would and had said things that are humiliating, mean, and soul crushing to her, so she seized the opportunity to hurt and humiliate him in public to make him feel like he has made her feel and have plausible deniability that it wasnt on purpose because it was “an open and honest therapy session.

I know people are losing patience and sympathy for Liz, and before I knew what it was like first hand to be with an abusive manipulator (especially a narc like Ed) I always thought the same. But once you go through it you understand just how difficult it is, it’s like trying to quit drugs but those drugs are able to gaslight you into thinking you aren’t good enough to quit. Manipulators are able to weaken a person to the point they don’t think leaving is possible. Just look at videos from when Liz started the show to now, she looks like she’s aged 20 years. I feel for her bc I’ve been through it 🙁
@brigade7678 Жыл бұрын
YES! Its really weird to see so many people go right to the "well... really its her fault shes being abused by this awful guy. She chose him!" like??? Guys I thought we understood why we don't blame victims of abuse for staying in bad relationships?? Theres a very real dynamic that keeps her locked in, fairly safe to say she had some stuff happen to her as a kid that conditioned her to be treated like that and accept it, and really to thrive in the pain like an addiction. Its a "i can't leave, noone will love me, I'm the actual problem hes right, this is what I deserve" and being yo-yoed by Ed with that flipped narc switch- im sorry ill change we can do this! to Ugh youre so emotional and out of control and honestly getting fat, you don't even WANT this to work out do you?! She was so young when they met and it was clear she was both repulsed and pulled in.... It was confusing to watch but I do think its just two broken people completing eachother's trauma cycle. And her being the one with ACTUAL empathy is the one that will suffer and be blamed for not being strong enough to leave, while everyone mocks the abusive partner yet never holds them responsible in any real sense. Sorry I was just glad to see someone saying this. Its wild how much people blame those with abusive partners.

I agree with your initial point here and I think in real life closed off, personal relationships then escaping an abuser is impossible and a huge challenge. This is absolutely great life commentary BUT it just doesn't apply here. They do not have a private relationship, they are a relationship aired and coached and constantly subject to inspection. Aside from that Liz has the advantage of protection from production crews, "therapy staff" and much more. Essentially she is not secluded and in a private abuse relationship.
@jamienicole2122 Жыл бұрын
@@brigade7678You said “she was able to thrive in pain, like an addiction”; I was a heroin addict for 15 years and people don’t “thrive in pain”, you actually are emotional stunted from when you start using, yes over time you are going to grow from life and experience, but you stop developing emotionally at a normal rate and even though there’s some things learned throughout your lifetime, the addict is quite stunted, emotionally speaking, and definitely isn’t “thriving”! What are you even talking about?!?!
@brigade7678 Жыл бұрын
@jamienicole2122 I used an inappropriate word there, it wasnt what I meant nor does it make sense. You're right, & I apologize as I can see it struck a nerve for you. It is similar to chemical addiction, the cycle of being stuck in something that's ruining your life. The brief high of those relationships and the intense long lasting lows. But no I did not mean "thrive", I meant closer to "function", when in a trauma cycle it becomes familiar and predictably horrible. Sadly leaving what is familiar, even when awful, can be insanely hard. Also I hope your doing well, and I'm glad you're still here. My brother was an addict all my life and it was hell for us all. I was/am amazed he survived it and thankful every day I see him grow & thrive away from heroine. But yes he is stunted and yes he still hurts. We say "I will always struggle, I will always strive". Wishing you easier days.

The same reason any other person stays in an abusive, co-dependent relationship: Liz has been desensitized to all the red flags, metaphorically beaten into submission to believe "it's not that bad, we can fix this, we're a happy couple in love". I'm sorry but there's no possible way that I can feel bad for big Ed at all. Like, did we forget how he went up to Rose and gifted her a toothbrush and mouthwash and was like "your breath isn't very pretty" in front of the camera? And then she got upset because it turned out to be a mouth ulcer causing the problem? OR THE STD THING?! And had the audacity to call Rose childish as well??? And then didn't want to take the test with her??? Honestly, I have no sympathy for Ed at all. He goes around and says and does terrible crap to people all the time, then when they get upset he has the audacity to call them childish with a dumb smug look on his face, so why should I feel bad for him getting called out for his inability to please someone in bed? The whole "it's bad to stoop to one's level" is also dumb as well--that's just his inability to eat what he's dishing out.

The STD thing is something very important that definitely needs to be discussed in a relationship, he didn’t have to fly over and see her with the intention of having sex within 2 milliseconds of meeting her - that’s the issue. He is so abusive and loves hitting below the belt any chance he gets. I do feel sorry for Liz and I hope she one day will break free of this awfully toxic situation. As for Ed? I learned sex ed in 7th grade at a Christian school as part of my science class. They separated the boys from the girls and our 29 year old male science teacher told each group about the reproductive systems of men and women, std’s, pregnancy and different forms of birth control. He was reserved but cool about it all. He also admitted to us that he lived with his girlfriend and saving up to get her an engagement ring (which, at church, was just “don’t even hold hands or else you’re sinning unless you’re married”) so they weren’t married yet, but every person should conduct themselves the way they believe is right for them for their own reasons, but always know that if you have sex, pregnancy is always a possibility, even if it’s a small possibility, so it’s something to consider before making that choice. He really handled it with respect, maturity and rationality and to this day I have respect for him for the way he handled that sensitive subject.

So with the Kelly and Molly situation I'm more than sure they are talking about the altercation that Kelly and Molly daughter Olivia had Novemberof 2022. She had accused him of grabbing her by the neck and slamming her against the wall at Molly's work while they had an argument with each other. But there was no real evidence that he did that Molly told police she "didn't have access to the footage"

@nvmberxii884 Жыл бұрын
Leo I feel like you're judging Liz and Ed's relationship from a lens that sort of ignores what narcissist relationships actually look like vs an actual dysfunctional one. You can never ever have a relationship with a narcissist without abuse, it just cannot happen, and this os the case here. And it's a bit upsetting to see people dog on Liz so hard when nobody considers the fact that she's not only been completely manipulated & cut down but also has predatory production people & financial stability related to being involved in all of this. Just like some two cents bro you're pretty empathetic and it's awesome to see but I feel like you're viewing this situation from not the most correct angle.

if i were to be on a show like this and they asked me to rate my husband's abilities in bed, i would decline as well. not because he is great or horrible, but that's just too personal, not only for him but for myself as well. guess that's why i'd never be on a show like this. plus i have never watched these shows, i'm here because of Leo. he is funny as hell and he can be philosophical too. best of both ❤

I hope it's ok I'll just quickly note this: Circumcisions do sometimes happen at different ages, mostly due to a medical need for it. Especially when men enter their teens is when their growth will show whether or not this will be a need. It has to do with genetics, and I know a few men who have gone through it in their teens. It isn't super abnormal in any case, but if someone has issues with a foreskin that is too tight for them, then they do need to seek medical aid so as to prevent far more dire issues due to it.
@FinchIsNotABird Жыл бұрын
I don't get when people say "Why would Liz say that" when she's been like the only person taking the therapy retreat seriously. Like she they are supposed to be open in honest and she is. They all chose to be on TV. Like if they didn't want things to be public then then they shouldn't be doing THERAPY on public TV. Like that doesn't make any sense.
