I love how natural you guys are. Mostly, people just give a tour. Maybe, some technical stuff. But, I love how your family is just so happy to be together. And, you let that show. From letting your kids be a part of the production on their terms, to how you and your wife are so playful. I hope you never lose that. Great video and I hope there are more to follow.

Do you ever feel uncomfortable with your children sleeping alone on top of the van and you inside? Idk I think I'd be a bit antsy about that one. But great use of the van for that many people.
@Vardagen3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Valorie! We never felt uncomfortable with our kids being in the tent, especially with us being so close. We did have spaces for them to all sleep inside though if there was a storm, or some areas warned of bears/wild animals. Wish we would have shown the inside configured for all 6 of us sleeping inside! We were pretty cozy. 😆

My thoughts exactly. I wouldn't be able to let my children sleep separate from me. there was an incident decades ago in which a child was kidnapped literally from the tent while her parents slept separate from her in an RV.

This is a really great video. I have been trying to educate myself on living in a van and if it will be a good idea for our family. As of can we do it.. We also homeschool our children and I just want to be able to be more free to just get up and go. Not be stuck with some house chores and yard work everyday. We are getting ready to rent out our house this year and make that big move. Either buy a van already equipped or just do it ourselves. Watching families like yours gives us the courage and motivation to do it. Thank you both for sharing God bless.

Great video, thanks for sharing Allow me to recommend 2 suggestions, not because your rig is not good but because you can make it better 1. Remove the rear cupboard and add a king size bed that can moved up by motors. This will allow your kids to sleep inside and you can use the roof for solar 2. The rear seat can be adjusted to fold up for easy acceds and also you can convet it to an extra bed. 3. If you minimize your bed size you can add a bathroom space with slide door that csn flexible to extend outside, this way you don't need to go outside every time to use toilet
@Vardagen3 жыл бұрын
Appreciate the thoughts. We do have solar on our roof. Also, not crazy about the motorized beds after considering them. We do have an arrangement for all sleeping inside if there is a storm. We’ll have to show that at some point.

Awesome set up. The rooftop tent is a great alternative to the pop-up "S.M." type ceiling bed. My only concern would be mold and how well the tent material would dry when packed away after a rainstorm? The TV is such a unique idea, never seen that before. You might have been more comfortable in an RV but it sounds like instead of waiting you just went for it, kudos! Thanks for the tour, be safe on the road!

Because of the type of work that I do, we can't do full-time van life. So, I want a van for short but frequent roadtrips. Something more comfortable than just a typical minivan but not an RV.
