The ‘loop in/out’ feature in the USB section allows you to record any noise from your computer into a loop. It’s really helpful for recording midi instruments onto the RC505

Hey, just found your channel. Can you explain about inputs and outputs of the mark II? I'm specifically interested in how many instruments can I record in stereo and considering to upgrade from mk I simply for that reason (and sound quality improvement)

Well, technically if you use 2 female stereo aux splitter cables in both 'Inst. 1' & 'Inst. 2' L/R inputs, you can have 4 pieces of hardware (running in stereo)... - So, on the Instrument 1 input, you want one splitter plugged into Instrument 1 (R) allowing space for 2 pieces of hardware. - Then, for Instrument 2 input, place another splitter into Instrument 2 (R). This will give you two more slots for hardware. But then, to have 8 instruments, plug a male to female splitter into the original splitters on both Instruments 1 & 2 (R) and do the same again. I think the sound quality will dip a little bit due to latency, but it's a cool idea!

Hey there! I'm guessing you want to play using virtual instruments (VSTi) right? The setup should be the same as with any other midi keyboard. Make sure you set the RC505 audio mode to GENERIC and the routing to LOOP IN and open your VSTi on Cubase. The sound of all you computer apps should come through the RC505 which you can loop however you want. Hope that helps
