***** im smart enough to understand the difference between a invasive and non invasive species and why he killed it. maybe you should take some time and do some research on the kind of damage snake heads cause.

I love a good baitcaster combo. The one you caught the 25.3lb flathead on is real nice. I have an old Abu Garcia baitcaster reel that I built out of parts that I had laying around when I was in my early teens and I still have it. I've caught shark and tarpon with it and it still works like new. I haven't been fishing in years and I miss it. I still have a few really nice rods and reels, I should reline them and get back to it with my sons. It's just hard for me to justify spending $40 for a fishing license to only go a few times a year.

+Ricky “Strawhatfisherman” Hendricks I could see it stripers are super opportunistic. I've caught em as a kid as big as 10 lbs on chicken liver. now as an adult I catch em in fresh water rivers with huge live shad. 40 inch fish aren't uncommon. that's in Kentucky. I live just north in Ohio and fish big cats in my spare time and there are plenty of striper and hybrid striper on our rivers just not over 20lbs at least that I've encountered

I've had fish break off, only to re-catch it a short while later with my rig/lure in its mouth. I recall many situations i have caught the same fish more than once and consider it fairly common. A recent occurrence was, when my son had a bass bust off a spinner bait last week and later watched the same bass leap out of the water with the spinner bait in its mouth. So, he cast to it and caught it again and got his spinner bait back. The bass was a healthy 3ish pound adult. Fish that are feeding are not reasoning the situation, they are not any more educated by being caught. I wish I could remember the study that was done, but it showed that a large mouth bass has about a 5 minute "reset" after you miss it. I have used this to my advantage many times after a big hit and miss. I give it a few minutes and then hit the same spot, better prepared. I was raised on the water and would wade fish grass beds and piers. Occasionally when not targeting panfish, I would catch and release bass. I would catch the same bass, in the same spot, on the same rubber worm, almost like clock work on different days. Catfish are just as predatory and territorial. As long as you are fishing with bait they eat, it is possible to catch the same big cats over and over. They are not going to change their diet or loose their appetite. Appetite is not voluntary, it is involuntary need and to a predator, it is what drives them.

+Eric Glickman Glickman Its not easy.. this was a rare day when we got into multiple big fish. After a rain when the water turns brown and is receding is the time to catch a big one, definitely fish with live/fresh cutbait, definitely fish dusk-into the night. other then that, its just putting in the time, finding the big ones takes lots of time, its a tricky puzzle to put together. For now our season is just about over, come next season though hit me up Ill give ya some info/tips

sounds good ,ive fished this spot in the video after some nice rain about 2 months ago and got skunked. have you ever fished on the skuke off of 113 and the boat ramps?
@ChrisMcIntee
@ChrisMcIntee 9 жыл бұрын
+Eric Glickman Glickman Dang, yea I get skunked during prime conditions sometime too haha, I've never fished where 113 goes over but on google maps it looks really good, bridges are a favorite area for flatheads to hang out because theres usually undercuts in the pilings and debris build up. Certain times there will be huge log jams on bridge piers, and if you stumble upon a huge log jam, even if its 4' of water or so, you will have big flatheads holed up in there. I think the spot you mention would be good for holding big flatheads, log jam or no log jam, the piers are enough to hold fish.
@MrStreetfighter007
@MrStreetfighter007 9 жыл бұрын
yeah man , up the river at the train bridge seems like a prime spot. the current cuts off and theirs huge log jams. just haven't gotten any big girls yet earlier this season. only small flatheads and channels

+Billy Ray it's near the Dump in oaks park in the Parking lot and walk down a trail. It will bring you to it. It's better at night I've pulled a 34 pounder out of here.
