I spent two summers working in maintenance for Big Foot Beach State Park in the late 70's. At that time the road was all gravel. I had to grade the road every so often to keep the ruts from forming. I dug post holes, put up new signs, repaired the old ones. Ran the garbage truck through the park and cleaned the toilet and shower facilities. The two men I worked for, the Ranger and the Superintendent where both nice fellows, teaching me all they new about Park maintenance. The main use was on the weekends, when people would drive up from Chicago and the park would get jammed. Thanks for the video. It brought back fond memories of my youth.

Did you ever hike the lake trail?
@fantasycamp40006 ай бұрын
@@SconnyWandering Yes, but not all the way. My family lived in Williams Bay, so one day when I was about 10 my brother and I and a couple friends decided to ride our bikes around the lake, not telling our parents. We only got to just past Fontana when one of the bikes had a flat tire. We had to knock on someones door to call our parents. They were not thrilled. This was in the 60's. In the sixth grade in Williams Bay, I also spent one week for outdoor education at George Williams Collage camp, also on the lake. I spent alot of summers swimming at the beach and fishing off piers.

You think one day you will go back and show those a-c camp sites and all the tent ones that weren't shown? I also noticed there is a campground called Gracial Drumlin-Sandhill station nearby, really small, thats close to Aztalan, hope you get to that one day :)

I most likely will not revisit big foot beach. I cant imagine finding it emptyer than i did and i dont like showing tent walk ins with guest in them. Ad for the other on on the bike trail, perhaps. I was unaware of it. But since its FCFS i want feel the need to see all sites.

Had some audio video out of sync, and I had to find time to really fix the edit. However, I filmed it the day I wound up at point beach state forest, after visiting bong recreation area. It was a long day, yet I still had the energy to do some night photography

@@SconnyWandering - I was thinking the other Big Foot. The tall furry one who only resides in out-of-focus places.

Can you park a car instead of an RV and spend the night?
@SconnyWandering Жыл бұрын
You can tent camp in the RV section. But your paying extra for the power, and the sites fill up faster

the small lake you walked along in the beginning of the video is man made in the exact same shape as lake geneva.

If that's the case, it has two narrows and I can't find Williams bay
