It's a bit tippy now because it's so tall but they do grip really well. Also it's way easier to snap axles.

thanks, you gave me the idea to cut the center of the lawnmower rims and weld the hubs straight up to the atv rims

Your channel was one of the first channels i subbed to back when I first put the youtube app on my phone! That was maybe 4 or 5 years ago. Your channel got buried by the algorythm when they changed a few years ago and I forgot all about your channel cause I sub to like 300 some channels nowadays. I only found your channel again cause iwent all th to the bottom of my subbed channels and started deleting channels that were stagnant. But when i watched the last vid of the lawnmower I got nostalgic and decided to comment. Id love to see an update of the mower Hope all is well and look forward to some new lawnmower content.

Good to see you back. That thing is going to be awesome. I have atv tires on my mud mower, but i have destroyed 3 transmissions ,maybe i'll try welding the shaft into a one piece. Great video!

Now that's what I'm talking about! Get back to your roots. glad your resurrecting it.

My roots would be Honda minibikes, but I sure love building mowers too. Getting back into these because trucks are expensive and I need to save up for a little while.

You may want to get that old pulley switched to something else, since those are ticking time bombs. But it is nice to see that you are making videos again!
@TheAlexManVideos8 жыл бұрын
The pulley on the trans? What might I be looking out for? It's been on there almost as long as I've had this mower.
@rockinatorsgarage59858 жыл бұрын
+TheAlexManVideos yes the pulley on the trans, they are only designed for fractional horsepower (less than a horsepower) and usually will grenade themselves due to the insane amount of pressure on the pulley. Try searching for a solid steel pulley or a die cast one, i use die cast they are around ten to fifteen dollars each.

U should upgrade to Bronze bushings for the spindles and wheels so it can handle some more stress with the big tires

It's on my list. The stock plastic ones have lasted this long but they are pretty much gone. Lots of play.
@ianbuilds77128 жыл бұрын
+TheAlexManVideos looks like those "front hubs" have an inside diameter like a wheel barrow or regular go kart wheel.. which is 1⅜" i.d. ik u can get ¾" i.d./1⅜" o.d. bearings for go karts or my local hardware store sells them but probably won't help u😑..
@willsimpson79498 жыл бұрын
What kind of transmission is in it because it looks like a spicer and those have a tendancy to grenade themselves lol
@TheAlexManVideos8 жыл бұрын
It's a Peerless MST206. I've blown up a couple. Both times the differential was welded and then scattered causing little pieces to poke through the case. This one has a solid shaft from one wheel to the other. So that should be fine until I figure out what the next weak link.
@willsimpson79498 жыл бұрын
I have a peerless 801 in my mower and it has a solid axle in it and its been pretty bulletproof so far. If the 206 blows up you should try an 820 or something like that.

@TheAlexManVideos8 жыл бұрын
Certainly not anywhere near as fast as an ATV, but with a modest pulley swap they are plenty fast to get into trouble. The sketchyness of it makes it fun.
@ianbuilds77128 жыл бұрын
yeah idc how fast my quads or dirt bikes can go... 17mph bouncing down a wooded trail on my offroad mower never gets old😂 can't get the smile off my face when I'm actually out there getting through shit quads get stuck on or are geared too high for.. my favorite thing to do is rock crawl with them but I have made racers capable of 60mph that roast tires on pavement too
