Sorry about the delay, burnouts a bitch and this video ended up being a much bigger beast than i antipicated ^^; i also wanted to mention that i put a note in the description for my "Beautiful" comparison video because a commenter caught that i accidentally swapped who starts talking first in the very beginning :P i do my best to read all your comments and respond to those i can think of something good to say to

i have a lot of theories about why they did this, but a lot of them tie into changes made in other songs, and typing them out resulted in a really long paragraph of text ^^; i'm planning on making a video essay on this exact thing-- either after the rest of the songs are done or when we hit "Blue"/"You're Welcome" depending on what people want to see first-- but the short version of it that there aren't any actual confirmed/concrete answers, as far as i'm aware

these song comparisons feel so fresh compared to other things on the ‘tube. I’m curious if you will do any different musicals after Heathers! I would love a Falsettos series!!

thank you for the compliment! i'm glad you're enjoying these videos!! the short answer is: i'm not too sure if i will make any for other musicals, mostly because i'm not too familiar with a lot of other musicals having different versions in the same way Heathers does the long answer is: the reason i'm making these comparisons is actually kind of specific, so i'm not sure if i'll make any more after i'm done with Heathers. A couple months ago i relistened to it for the first time in 6/7 years, and I ended up talking to my roommates about it and finding out that while i and one of my two roommates were more familiar with the Off-Broadway version, my other roommate was more familiar with the West End version. None of us were aware of just how many changes there are between the two, so we ended up comparing some of the songs. i was curious to find every single change i could, so i started making these and figured i'd upload them just in case anyone else was interested in their differences like i am :P looking into it now, though, the changes in Falsettos and their reasons are FASCINATING so i might go for it if more people express interest!

Rams line in the west end version is so fucking bland it almost hurts to hear. Like ik hes supposed to seem drunk but it just sounds like someone not having any energy and reading something ironically, really disappointing

i’m hoping to also do the reprises and the songs that aren’t on cast recordings!! one of my personal favorite Heathers songs is actually “Prom or Hell” :]
