Great videos Josh could you please do a little segment on how you look after your skins in and out of the bush?
@joshjameskiwibushman10 жыл бұрын
Hey Ben, I just lay them out skin side up in the frost then when they are frozen roll them up. If it rains and they are frozen I put them under cover. Will last for a week. If it doesn't freeze and your up there for more than 4 days or if its warm you will need to salt the skins. Chuck them straight in the freezer as soon as you get home

great video! Ridgeline or Swazi smock??? I'm in two minds?!?
@joshjameskiwibushman8 жыл бұрын
go stoney creek, swazi dont honour their warrantee, I had a pair of gators fail in the first 20 minutes of use, they then tried to tell me they didnt sell brown gators even though I purchased them from their website, after I sent several photo's they then told me they didnt warrantee the zippers because they were made in China. Cheeky bastards. Get the Tundra from Stoney Creek, hard wearing and if you get hot you cn unzip it as your climbing which you cant do with the smocks

Hi Josh, awesome video, you must be having a very exiting life. A few questions, as a newbie to NZ it is hard for me to decide what caliber is ideal for hunting here? 243? 270? 308? which one is your favorite? is it Tikkas that you and Smithy use? Looking forward for more videos. Cheers.
@joshjameskiwibushman10 жыл бұрын
tikka, 308 a good all rounder

Was that smitty's 338 edge at 24.12, or your .270? and do the suppressors really help with recoil, are they beneficial in your humble opinion? cheers. F.Y.I Patreon + you = totaly more value than any other production company in the world!
@joshjameskiwibushman9 жыл бұрын
Yep. 338 edge. suppressors Def improve accuracy

Nigel Roberts from UK A great on foot hunting video Just what it should be. You should stop shooting from helicopters. Fly in but hunt on foot. Consider posting worldwide and act as guides. A lot of hunters would give their eye teeth for what you have got!!!! Enjoy while you can Cheers.
@TH-mq6gr6 жыл бұрын
Why don’t you carry a pair of lightweight crampons for ice and snow? It would solve the slipping on the recovery and descent once the hunt is over.
@joshjameskiwibushman6 жыл бұрын
yeah, Im getting there, all the gear is expensive. Priorities. I used to hunt them in gumboots and a PVC raincoat with an open sight 303... so we are doing OK

get the films n why ur there but why kill the bulls if its probably imposible to get the beast back to camp.we all like a kill but not for a laugh .
@joshjameskiwibushman9 жыл бұрын
cazthebaldfox Hi there, its a mix of pest control and hunting. We harvest the hides from the big bulls and also the backsteaks and hindquarters. We also harvest the meat from the young bulls and nannies as well as the hides. A lot of people just shoot them and leave them. The NZ Department Of Conservation cull thousands of Tahr each year using helicopters, foot hunters and aerial poison ( 1080 poison )
