BIG GEORGE FOREMAN- The night I met Jesus Christ (1977)

George Foreman suffered only his second professional defeat when he lost to Jimmy Young in a boxing match in Puerto Rico in 1977. In his locker room after the match, George had a deeply religious experience that changed his life forever. Even though George was a top contender to regain the heavyweight title, he retired from boxing, at the age of 28, to serve the Lord. George became an ordained minister and has been preaching at The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ since 1980.

I met Jesus. In my dream at 3:33 am. Six months ago. People don't believe it. Jesus came to me , took my hand, the next minute, I was looking inside the gates of heaven and saw all my deceased relatives around a table of food having a picnic, it was sunny, warm and other children were playing. The strange thing though, is that they, my relatives were all young! Not old, they all looked like mid age, not older like 80 as I remember them. But when I tried to call to them, they didn't answer. I remember asking Jesus why they couldn't hear me? He didn't answer me. Then the next second we were at the gates of hell. We walked together hand in hand, and I saw terrible things. People being tortured, fire, and people in chains, and it was terribly cold. Then the next second Jesus gestered to me and said if I want to see the gates of heaven again, I will need to change. The way your living your life will not get you to the gates of heaven. Then it was over. . I woke up sobbing uncontrollably and didn't stop for over 10 minutes. I was actually hyperventilating and shaking. , I could believe it. It was a strong message. I know it's hard to believe, but it happened. I pray each day now. Jesus Christ is real, he does exist. Believe me. Everyone has dreams, but this was more. I felt a complete overwhelming humble feeling come over me. It was truly amazing. Now, I wake each day, pray for those I hurt in my life. I help people in anyway I can. I work two jobs, help put my daughter thru college by working 75 hrs a week. Help my son anyway I can and always talk to Jesus. I remember him so well in the dream. I don't know if I'll make it to heaven, but I'm sure trying. I definitely accept Jesus Christ as the only true God! I love Jesus and now try to love as many people in my life as I can.

What a transformation. This man was a KILLER.. I saw his work first hand. In 1965 I was a guard at entrance gate to the JoB Corps center in Pleasanton Calif. George Foreman was there. He used to regularly beat people to a pulp in the dorms. I personally, more than once, had to go into the barracks- like dorm and help the ambulance personnel carry the bloodied kids he beat up to the ambulances.
