Soulja Slim was a hit maker, Funk Flex was a hater of the South because we were finding out way in the music 🎼 business.

I’m from the south too but Funkmaster Flex was under no obligation to play Soulja’s record. Nobody owes anybody anything. A NY can’t come down south and make that same request to great success. If they play it cool, if not then that’s life. All the guys Gipp named might still be alive but none of them are active. Luke hasn’t put out a record in years. What was the last release from Rap-A-Lot?

@hitek9too255 that's not why because of Master P nor the south. The higher ups wanted it this way, they let the most ignorant people got all that air play from 2002 til now. It was going to happen even if the east or west was running the rap game from 1997 til now. Don't blame the South for that bro

I stayed in Atlanta metro for 7 years...one thing about them...they think that they are better than the rest of the south. Plenty of legends died in texas but Atlanta dont acknowledge them like that. Funk flex is a gatekeeper and nyc artists spoke up about not getting their stuff played either unless they paid 60k or better. This was 20 years ago. Southerners think that they are special and ny hates them but the truth is...ny will treat ny bad so dont take it personally.
