I remember reading this article by a music critic years ago. He said, he confronted Miles Davis about his new music. He just didn't understand the direction Miles was going with it. He said Miles looked at him and said "Should I wait for you?" It floored him. Sometimes you have to accept your favorite artists exploration and catch him on the next trip. If you can't catch this one. I liked the instrumental album by the way.

From an execution standpoint I think he did what he needed to do. Miri Ben-Ari is a violinist 🎻 and she was as hip hop as hip hop could get. If he can maybe get into that lane it would be dope. Lol Miles Davis was trained like a mutha. Bwah stop lol. I could see if 3K had played in concert with someone notable, THEN put out a project like this. It was a social experiment that worked. Let's not dress it up too much.
@malcomshabazz28099 ай бұрын
Music is a feeling. It's not about training. Who trained the person that's training you?? If you do something long enough, you can become great at it. The music is therapeutic to me. I rock with it
@marclions669 ай бұрын
@malcomshabazz2809 That's all well and fine but I addressed a point Gipp made and that was him questioning if Miles had any training. I think you may want to @ him in this case for even having that question in mind. The dungeon had training, sleepy brown had training, Curtis Mayfield had training, there's a whole lineage of training at work in real life here. With Shabazz in your name, you would know about training, so I don't see how you could readily shrug training off. I figure one such as yourself would prioritize knowledge over feelings. Just saying. You dig the lp. Cool, I respect it. Again, Gipp threw "training" out there and used Miles as a very poor example to try to make a point in 3K's favor.

@@derrickbasley5677 What I'm saying is that when it comes to music or art, it's less about training and more about capability. I'm also a music artist so my POV may be beyond your level of reasoning. I know people who attended college for business and ended up working regular jobs. On the flip side I know people who never went to college and became millionaires as businessmen without anyone showing them how to do it. Some people learned how to swim by being thrown in the water. No swimming lessons. So I'm saying you when it comes to talent, you either have it or you don't. If thats the case people should be asking these new non rapping dudes who trained them? They damn sure didn't study hip hop or how to formulate bars but most people still bobbing their heads to that trash.
